Quite a lot of speed between #1 and #2 - 375MHz. We all know that CPUZ has some frequency "glitches" (or what you call it) from time to time, and with such a superior chip I'd say a benchmark run at reasonable speed would be nice to have - just to verify that it's indeed correct. If I ever got a 4.6Ghz FX57 you bet I'd run at least 1m on it, not just do suicides:p:

This is the last batch of B3s,almost a B4 practically.I guess the chip wasn't quite stable for user to run tests, but if knocked off 100-200Mhz he would probably be able to run benchmark tests on it too.

Of course it's impossible to run tests at that speed, but at about ~60 - 80MHz lower, he'll for sure be able to run an SPi 1M run, just to clear things up and automatically crush a WR :D ('cause at ~4400MHz, one could crush AMD 1M WR while browsing xtremesystems.org :yepp:)

Yep quite true. But don't forget that all that effort will last only about a month or so,since ~3.6Ghz Deneb would destroy that record while browsing xtremesystems.org :D

Actually it's 6 weeks :p:, so I personally think it's kind of cool to have the AMD 1M WR for over a month ;) :D

thats not true i had an E7200es and it clocked no better than any other E7200s
not to mention the 9950 isn't even a ES they are black edition chips which means they are all unlocked multi's

Amazing OC...congrats to who ever got the golden chip..please post some benches! Think the record over at hwbot is in 4000-4100mhz range. So this crushing anything ive seen.

It will be a golden sample, if we see some SPi runs ... ;) Till then, it's more like a BS sample ;)

If more people would start overclocking AMD now, sure we would see more records. 95% of overclockers here are using Intel, so most AMD chips with great overclocking potential will never see any overclocking at all.

considering I had an ES Phenom I which clocked remarkable better than most retails I somehow doubt the score...not to mention that no matter what I tried I could never validate the phenom with 4GHZ+ on CPUz even it was fine in windows idling. All my validations where corrupted and I tried it more than 20 times :( So this does look like some bug (maybe).

didn't made a big difference while I was testing back in the days so I used DC. But still 500MHZ+ seems like an impossible gain with SC. and just to make it clear: i don't want to call it a wrong result without further information but it should be allowed to question some things ;)

If there is no benchmarks, and no news of any kind I'd say it's a bugged validation:D
This is like getting a 7.2ghz E8600... I bet people would wonder if a validation was all you'd get:p:

Yeah, I agree to that. It's not right to call people cheaters if all they did was to try to validate a bugged run - without intending to claim the WR. I like that ripping seems to "auto-add" x86-submissions to the database, but SOMETIMES it causes some trouble;)

However, it is a problem if it is malicious fraud.
In any case only a registrant understands the truth....

It's quite easy to fix this... just remove the score (and perhaps the 4,5GHz Phenom as well... benchmarks anywhere)

in all my time spent spotting fakes, and such over the years.
the one obvious thing is always this...
WR's tend to be in small steps. not huge leaps.
WR one week 8100 mhz (631 P4 example) next week, 8120 mhz.... and so on.
WR's in huge leaps, from unknown names, with little more then a single screen shot, or single validation... throw it out.
if its real, let them prove it. if they cant... too bad.
plain fact is - EVERY serious overclocker here, would do more then 1 screenshot for a WR.
even if it meant lowing the max OC by 300 mhz for a few small benchs.
anything to back up the OC.

I found this score on ripping.org where it was added manually, I guess. The voltage was given there.

I talked to Franck today and he switched the score (Phenom) to unsure because of the reasons already given in this thread. The score really looks suspicious: a sudden increase and no threads, no pictures, no backups.

Didn't that Sempron slip though ORB and grab a world record? I seem to recall something like that.
felix_w
12-09-2008, 12:40 AM
Oj101 if you're referring to my "odd" sempron, i didn't even validate the result through cpu-z , since that would be unfair (although i don't think there would be a single case that they would consider it as valid)...
The specific result is only posted & marked as odd and not valid result in the "AMD OC result thread" in the AMD subforum of Thelab.gr, where i also state that it is obviously caused by a bug...
