So I use the VGA input on my VW222U every now and then to do dual-screen with my laptop. I had borrowed my friend's Xbox 360 for a day or two, and had it hooked up to VGA using one of Microsoft's VGA cables, and I was trying to set the display res on the Xbox to 1680x1050 (native). For some reason that wasn't working, and it kept forcing 1920x1080. It'd display that, but obviously expand outside the screen (so if you used the H and V position controls you could see the rest).
Since then, however, I haven't been able to get the screen to display 1680x1050 using the VGA input. I've tried it with both my laptop (VGA output) and my desktop (using a DVI-to-VGA adaptor), and whenever the res is set to 1680x1050, the screen goes blank, but does NOT show a "No Signal" error. Resolutions below native (eg 1440x900) work, but not native. DVI input still works fine and displays properly, just not VGA.
I've tried multiple VGA cables to no effect.
So did I manage to stuff the input (and thus need to RMA it), or is there some way to fix it? I've tried resetting the monitor back to factory defaults and that hasn't changed anything.
Edit: And 30 seconds after posting this, I found out that there are drivers for this monitor (never thought about that before), and after installing them on the laptop, the screen will display native res over VGA. It's still weird that it stopped displaying properly in the first place.
