Hey guys, I am little confused on what RAM to buy. (UD3P/Q9550)
I had two pairs of dominator that wont work in dual channel, so I am not even considering corsair anymore
The OCZ Reaper PC-8000 work good, but I cannot get it to go over 1000mhz :(
My question is that is it better to buy PC-6400 @ 4-4-4-12 or would it be better if I got PC-8500 @ 5-5-5-15.
I don't want to spend more than $120. I would really like 4GB but i am open to the option of having 2GB of faster ram.
Thank you so much in advance for helping.

So far I am looking at
mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066

mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

For the mushkin pc6400 model I am reading in the reviews that it can do 1T. I have no idea what that means.
Is it possible with these patriots or any other memory to get ~950mhz @ cas 4

its cheap and will easily do 1100 cas5, and dont blame corsair u probly got a qibmonda kit andthose dont clock well and were quickly replaced in all honesty if u dont do the reserch to get the proper ICs then u are at fault if they dont clock, those gskill are the same promos performance ICs as the 1200mzh kit and the 900 c4 arnt reject kits so u have a good chance of getting up to 1200mhz

Thank you so much bro the price for that Ram is awsome. I am going to think bout it for a few hours and then jump on it.
I didn't have a problem with ocing corsair, the memory that I couldn't push past 1000mhz was the ocz reaper x pc8000. For corsair I couldn't even boot with two sticks. each stick worked individually on slot 1/2 but not 3/4. According to my research the corsair dominator should have worked good with the UD3P.
Anyhow cheers for your suggestion on the ram.
how do these overclock http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146726

I would get some DDR2 1066 CAS 5's. If you're looking for a really good set. There's a pair of Patriot 4GB DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 that will OC to almost 1200Mhz at CAS 5 on 2.3v which isn't bad for that speed.

I still think the above deal is probably the best, thanks zanzabar.
Its nice to buy a kit that's stock 900mhz 4-4-4-12.
I do have an extra pair of sticks so i am using those until I make my final decision. I will probably have this setup for a while, so I want to make sure I get a good bang.
