Printstable only.
It's about 20-25c in my room.
I will try "outside-air" soon ;D

This one is sorta boring as far as memory bandwith goes, but a new record for me:-)
Fairly stable, so far... Windows, SuperPi 1million, 32sec a few times. I wanta go for 31s. Going to start increasing FSB a little. I think I might be ale to get 218x12.5, we'll see.

Please explain.
A64 has this "bug" that rounds up every .5 multiplier. in other words:
your REAL mem speed is (216x12.5) / 13 = 2700 / 13 ~ 208Mhz

I'm still not following. I ran 216x 12.5 for 2700. That math seems right to me.
Ok.. are you telling me that when I use .5 multis, the memory actually runs slower, even though all programs show it as 216mhz?
Seems like you are saying that 12.5 doesnt exist. Instead it is really 208x13, even though I chose a 12.5 multi. In other words, no such thing as a 1/2 mulit at all. Is this correct?

oh, i just didn't notice that you're running FX... that rule may not stick well to FX... but i'll double check that for you if REAL mem speed is showing up in CPU-Z mem tab...

Hey bachus, after playing with multis and FSB all day yesterday, I think you are correct. Using a 1/2 multi really sucked. Even keeping the FSB around 217, a half multi just didnt perform well. My best performance comes with 12x and 220-222, if it doesnt crash in bechies. 2610 is about all I can get 24/7 stable with my cooling. Thanks for the info.

try max async latency = 6ns, read preamble = 5ns, bypass max = 7x and read write queue bypass = 16x and you'll get under 40 sec
dont worry about CAS 1.5, cas 2 is the same ;)

What's so amazing about that?
You do realize that there is very little difference between NC and WC OC's right? many 3200+ Winchesters hit 2600MHz and beyond so it is not that farfetched that a good NC 3000+ will do a 600MHz OC too.
Although that IS at the top end of the curve it isn't that unthinkable as say, 2.8GHz stable on air with a regular NC.

Working my way up after getting my Promise 33/66mhz pci sata card yesterday. Due top lack of bus locks, my previous high FSB was 224, stable at 2-3-2-6. Couldnt go higher without OS corruption.
Well must say I am happy with the pci card so far.
Had to bump up vdimm to max on my board 2.8v to get this pi stable. I need to get to 2620mhz at least I think for this to be worth it over 220x12 without relaxing the timings. Having fun playing though... Nice to be above 230FSB, period. Gonna see if this is stable in games before going any higher. Got some fans over mem, doesnt seem to be getting too hot, but we'll see after I torture it a little bit. Wish me luck!
235 is all she's got @2-3-2 with t1 @2.8v, not bad though considering its rated for 217 max with these timings. Gonna try 2-4-3-7 per the spd timings table...

Here is my overclock. I can get to windows and get errors in SuperPI at as high as 2.78Ghz, but this is what i run day in day out, as it is as stable as can be. What i like is my voltage is just as low, or lower, than the original settings. Funny thing is, i can go up to 1.75v and it still wont be stable for benching at anything past 260...
BTW, this is on stock cooler with Ceramique instead of Thermal pad. Winchester core, 0441 model.

I notice that the 3500+ 90nm CPU is fairly rear, I have just received this CPU myself, but I cant test it at the earliest friday. Also ordered Corsair PC4400 which have the following timings 2,5-4-4-8.
How much do you think I can OC this CPU on stock fan cooler. I have ordered ThermalTake BigWater which will cool my CPU at a later time. I am abit concerned because I have read alot about my mainboard ( ASUS A8N SLI DELUXE ) having problems with TCCD chips? Anyone else got TCCD memory on this mainboard ?

Yeah I was woundering the same thing. Any reason for being rear ??? Even the 3500+ NC a few only.
Is it because 3500+ O/C's around 2.6~2.7Ghz, same as 3000+ or 3200+? therefore ppl just buy the 3000+ or 3200+. But the Memory Controller on the 3500+ should be better right?
I have seen a A64 3500+ NC with 0421SPMW Batch. anyone know if it's good O/C batch?
If i resume a bit all of this results I can derive that

Yes, and with Samsung TCCD RAMs. G.Skill LE or LA.
But still i read some reviews where the msi had a lot of little bugs like the sata port etc ...
And what about the voltages etc ...
I have bh5 and ocz pc4000 ....
But I'll look for some info about the board and consider buying the msi with the 3200+ winchester ( or other model ???? )
Now i will stop ruining this thread up

You'll find everything you'll need to know about MSI and more.
- SATA, use 3 or 4
- Voltages, Refer to the link. either you use a Beta Bios that can do high voltages or do a Vcore mod.
- RAMs, Get a OCZ Booster. It works on this mobo. again refer to the link if you want to do Vmods for this mobo. :)
That are a lot of things that could occur ...
I"think about it but I am a bit sceptical though...
Are there new revisions ?

Tried both my Corsair XMS3500 BH-5 that does 270MHz 1:1 and my Geil PC3700 that does about the same with the same result. With the "100MHz" divider your RAM will run the half speed of your HTT. I'm not the only one with this problem, don't know if there's any other board with this problem. If you want the Neo2-board go for the 3200+ instead of the 3000+, the 10x MP will help alot.

that's right about the dividers with some types of memory. My Twinmos SP didn't divide either, so i got stuck at 10x250 so that sucked big time! But kingston hyperx (BH5) for example, is dividable.

It is amazing to get 2.8 with 3000 since that is 1 GHz overclock but you should get some better memory with that. I get better superpi than this with 150 MHz lower clocked processor. Your superpi is rather bad given the clock. Needs to be at least 1 minute faster, or better.

neo2 Plat. no mods and really @#%^ voltage readings
Bios setting is 1.57 yet putting a meter on the mobo shows 1.75 and core center shows 1.65 +/-
water cooled.
the 3 pictures are simply reference of different settings.
my ram is really limited as this ocz pc4000 rev2 really isnt the best overclocking. although running ram at 133mhz allows for 340+ HTT i try to achive 1:1 as running a divider just creates a severe lack in memory performance. it makes the overclock not worth it as your mem thruput just suffers severely. The first picture reflect 166mhz Dram the last 2 reflect 133mhz.
Prime 95 does not work for any of them BUT SP2004 runs perfectly for all of them. why ? i do not know....
SuperPi 1m does pass on all 3 settings which is good.
With the irregular voltage readings im getting and the minimal 1:1 clocking im not getting the speeds id like. but the picks you see are what i am getting thus far.
The cpu is only 4 days old and im able to go higher with less voltage each day.

Yeah, apparently I am not as fortunate as you and this cpu needs the voltage to hit 2.5Ghz. I have had it going for 10 months now if I recall. I have a dual heater core (2x120mm) with Swiftech block on the cpu, which keeps it very cool. At the time, I had done my research and found that 1.78v was high, but sustainable with this type of cooling on a CH. If you have evidence to the contrary, I would certainly love to hear about it before she rests in peace... ;)
Lestat
09-15-2005, 05:23 AM
ah your on water.. that helps but gosh i have never seen vapo running that high of volts..
i dont need to produce evidence all you gotta do is look around you.. 1.78v on a DTR or Mobile clawhammer is suicide
but hey man if it works it works you cant argue that fact! right ?
that is damned odd though ive never seen anyone have to run that high just to reach 2.5 very odd indeed.... especially on the beloved 250GB mobo.
