That depends on what you want to do with them and what kind of output connectors your TV has.
If you simply want to listen to a stereo program through the GigaWorks speakers and your TV has a headphones output all you need is a stereo mini-jack to stereo mini-jack cable to connect the TV's Headphones connector to the Aux In connector on the GigaWorks control pad.

If your TV has a Stereo Out via RCA connectors, then you need a double RCA ( stereo ) to Stereo mini-jack cable to connect them to your speakers pad.

If you want to listen to Dolby Digital ( AC-3 ) and DTS audio streams ( DVDs, BluRay, HDtv, etc ) you need to either use your computer and input the audio from the TV's output to the PC and from the PC to the speakers, or buy Creative's Audio Decoder pod ( the model name is DDTS100 if I recall correctly ) to directly connect the TV to the GigaWorks speakers system.

DDTS-100 is not manufactured anymore by creative is there another way ???

Hmm... if you can't find the DDTS-100 it's going to become difficult.
I don't know if there's another solution similar to Creative's DDTS-100, there might be, I haven't been in close touch with computer speaker systems lately.

The other way would involve getting a stand-alone Dolby Digital & DTS decoder, but that's going to cost more than buying a home cinema set :p:

Ohhh

That really sucks :( i thought that a easier way could be done.

Thou i might be able to buy a DDTS on ebay... if i do it i use the optical cable to connect it??? or another?

That depends on what kind of connections your TV or DVD/BluRay unit has.
You can use any of the available connections and you can also use two or even more connections and choose which one you'd like to listen to via the remote control.

You just read my mind.
I just finished watching an episode of Fringe, and somehow ( don't ask me how :p: ) I remembered this thread and I was thinking about asking you what kind of outputs your TV/DVD/BR has.
And all out of sudden your thread was in the new posts list :D

You can use the Digital Optical Out from the TV to the Digital Optical In ( SP/DIF ) on the SoundBlaster X-Fi panel to use the computer to send the audio signal to the speakers.

You can also use the Audio Out ( Left & Right [ white & red ] RCA connectors ) to send the audio to either the speakers directly ( not the best of choices anyway ) or the sound card.
This way you'll only have the ability to listen to a monophonic or stereo audio stream.

If you want to be able to listen to Dolby Digital (AC-3) and DTS multi-channel audio streams use the SP/DIF ( Digital Out -> Digital In ) connection.

You need a Digital Optical ( SP/DIF ) cable.
This is the Digital Optical Audio Cables at NewEgg [ http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2104300697%201177537855&name=Digital%20Optical%20Audio%20Cables ]

For the other question, you'll be using the Creative Audio Mixer to select which source you'd like to listen to.
You can have them mixed and listen to both as well, but that's of... no use I assume :p:

Hey man

So i aquired the digital cable on ebay, but now i realized i have a even bigger problem :P

I dont have the AD_EXT Ribbon Cable that connects the X-Fi to the front panel... i tried a floppy cable and a dvd\cd cable but one is too short and the other is too big and has blocked pins...

Nowhere online can i find one of these cables...

Any ideas????

thx again

Damn, that's not good at all.
You have to rely on yourself ( to cut some cables and connectors and make one ) or find somebody willing to give you his cable.
Of course you can send Creative Labs an e-mail, they might help you.

I'm gonna check out my cable later on and try to think of any possibilities of a simple mod.

Well it seems by what i read that its virtualy impossible to get a cable. Since my pc will need an upgrade soon. I will upgrade the sound card also to the new Titanium Champ Series, this one brings the optical in \ out in the back so it will be better also to make the connection

Hey BenchZowner i hope u can reply my next doubt ;)

and thx for all the replies...

So i assembled a new computer with my X-Fi Titanium when i ended i conected the TV too the X-Fi and imbaness worked right away and was perfect... Thou i cant play computer and watch tv since the sound will mix together... but since i want the surround sound too play Wii its superb, ill conect it too play wii and disconect for the rest ;)

OK now for my doubt... i have the S750 speakers and the cable that connects the woofer too the X-fi is a 4 too 3 cable (dunno if i make myself clear here) having 4 colors the woofer (black \ green \ orange \ grey ) and the other end of the cable only has black \ green \ orange. THing is the X-Fi titanium supports the grey cable (side speakers) but mine has no grey on the other end. How can i connect my side speakers? can u link me too an ebay auction ? tell me the name of the cable too buy ? any solution ?? ;)

I haven't used the X-Fi Titanium, but since it's Creative Labs behind it, it should support the GigaWorks S750 THX with the classic 4 to 3 mini-jacks cable.
There might be an option somewhere in Creative's Console or in the THX Setup Console to select the output method for a 7.1 speakers setup to "3 mini-jacks" or "4 mini-jacks".
If there's no such option ( I don't think so ) you can go out and buy a decent 3.5mm stereo mini-jack to 3.5mm stereo mini-jack cable, and use that for the gray connector ( from the subwoofer to the sound card's gray output ).

I think I found what you have to do ;)

http://i41.tinypic.com/2vshiyw.jpg

I've been using the THX Console in the past and don't remember seeing the speaker configuration options based on models, so you might have to update your THX Setup Console manually from Creative Lab's website.

I search for applications for X-Fi Titanium and i only get this:

Dolby Digital Live Pack for Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium series 3.00.00
Creative Console Launcher 2.60.29
Creative CD Burner Plugin 5.01.44 for Creative MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer
Creative WaveStudio 7.10.24
Creative MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer 5.20.23

the 2 first ones i have installed... where can i download that console?????

i even google it and i get one for audigy 2 but dunno if its the same!

Did you select to install the THX Setup Console when you installed your sound card ? ( from the supplied Drivers CD )
Are you running Windows XP or Windows Vista ?

If you click on the "7.1 Speakers" under Speaker Configuration, it doesn't list the speaker-sets models on top ?
If not, could you please post a screenshot of each sub-menu of your THX Setup Console ?

WTF!
Looks like Creative managed to screw up another thing...

The only guaranteed to work solution is buying 4* 3.5mm Stereo Mini-Jack to 3.5mm Stereo Mini-Jack cables and connecting each output from the sound card to the corresponding input on the subwoofer.

Hi

Darn im tired of bothering but issues continue too appear, this might not be very hard but im having trouble fixing it.
So i bought the cables u said and everything is working in the channel test. Thou when playing mp3 in winamp only the front speakers work can this be solved????

Another thing is when i make the hardware test too make the mic work it opens the line-in so i can hear my own voice via the mic and it makes reverb in the woofer\speakers. When i mute the line-in the mic closes and i cant speak on vent... can this be solved also?

thx man

1) To listen to your MP3s ( and generally all the stereo audio files ) you need to enable CMSS 3D and pick one of the methods ( Stereo Expand or Stereo Surround ) [ Stereo Surround seems to be better at least for my setup ].
Do not forget to switch to Entertainment mode when listening to MP3s/etc.

2) You need to set the Line-In/Mic volume slider to 0% and tick "Mute" in the Mixer and select the Line-In/Mic in the Recording Source ( in the mixer ).
