Hello All,

I am in the process of upgrading my PC. I currently have a E8500 running on a eVGA 680i. I have a MM U2 UFO case and a eVGA 8800GTS 512MB (G92) with the thermalright HR-03GT for air cooling. I have a logitech G9 gaming mouse and the G15 keyboard.
I also have the Razor Barracuda 5.1 gaming headset.

I have a budget of $450 and my current planned purchases are:

1. GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard $129

2. G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1100 (PC2 8800) $114
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231194

After shipping that leaves me with about $205.

I was thinking of getting a sound card to go with my Logitech G51 speakers.
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion

Do you think that my money is better spent elsewhere?

Give me some suggestions.

No, I am not going to get a Nehalem.

Thanks for your help.

For gaming I would almost spend that $200 on am Nvidia 260GTX or an ATI 4870 (those are about 200 and some change after rebates)

I agree with the other post. Get a better video card.

Are you going to OC that 8500? If yes, then make sure you have a good HSF (Xigmatek S-1283 as an example).

That is nice memory, but I think you can find just as goof 4gig kits on sale out there with just as good timings.

What monitor do you have and what will you game at (resolution) ?

What is your PSU?

Thanks for the input....

Currently I have a Dell 22" widescreen LCD 1680 X 1050.
My PSU is a Coolermaster 600W. (Hadn't thought about a PSU...hummmm.....)
I have the Sunbeam Core contact Freezer for my CPU cooler.
I will definitly be O/Cing my E8500 and that was the primary motivation to upgrade.

Sorry, gonna keep the card. :-)
