i picked up some stuff from compusa, and i applied it to my gpu and cpu. first, with my tremor stricken hands, i accidently got something on the green part of the cpu that sticks out on the p4. and second, i got some on the videocard, and i used rubbing alcohol to get most of it off. Will it be ok? thanks.. wes

If it's conductive, it can screw your video card up pretty bad....make sure you get it all off. I use a soft tooth brush and alcohol. I doubt it will hurt the cpu. Don't get any on your mobo traces, ram, etc.

I take that to mean it's slightly conductive...just clean it up best you can and give it a go...hopefully it will be OK. ;)

heh.. i guess if it doesnt start up clean it a little better. Im still pissed because the mcw50-t i bought from gouda96 who bought from hardass is using like 1/4" screws, when the guide says 1 1/4" 4-40 screws, so now it wont fit and they dont sell them at the home depot, plus i dont know how im going to get an adapter for my chevy heatercore to my mcw50-t sized tubing =/.

I imagine you will need to solder a copper fitting to your heater core that your tubing will fit on. Probably 1/2 or 3/8". ;)

Wess, as far as fitting the tubing on the heater core, buy some tubing the right size for the heater core, and then use adaptors to change from one tubing size to the other.

Heater core with 3/4" tubing -->3/4" to 1/2" adaptor --> water block

does that make sense to you ?

and what are you talking about the 1/4" screws ? on the MCW50 ?? are you saying they are only 1/4" long ? If so you should be able to find some longer #4 screws somewhere, I would have though homedepot would carry them, or Lowes

OK, I see what Major is saying and he makes a good point. I was not sure if you meant that your heater core would not accept your tubing because of the TYPE of connection it had or because of the SIZE of the connection or BOTH. My heater core had to have almost a foot of copper tubing cut off one outlet and a fitting soldered on. I think Majors point is that if it has a larger sized outlet, use that to your advantage by going with that larger size tubing and only reduce it when you must (at the block). That should give you better flow and/or higher pressure. Correct me if I'm wrong Major. :D

mcw50-t uses 4x 1/4"x4-40 for geforce setup, and 2x 1 1/4 x 4-40 screws for radeon setup. I only got the 1/4" screws, and hardass is tellign me im supposed to put them in throught the bottom of the card, which doesnt make sense to me, because regardless, the screws arent even long enough to go through the waterblock completely, much less springs and washers. now i have to order 1 1/4" from swiftech, and home dept doesnt carry that length, im gonna call lowes tommarow.
