I just bought a Seagate 1TB drive, pretty good for $130.

anyhow, i plug it in and proceed to boot but it takes FOREVER and the loading bar doesnt come up.

i unplug it, and play around with boot order (forgot which drive has the OS on it) and now it says Disk read error. what happened??

Before the read error, it booted into windows but everything was really slow and my computer didnt respond so i restarted it .

i tried cmos clear and no help. sometimes i swap the order and get this msg "CLIEN MAC ADDR: 00 04 4B 03 A4 EE
GUID: C9A16 and then a bunch of numbers.
DHCP........."

Grr what happened! I just plugged in a new drive and it goes haywire

i now have Seagate 500gb, Seagate 250gb, WD 500GB and the new Seagate 1000gb

Sound like you are trying to boot from a network device. Enter the Bios ( probaly by pressing Del when you boot but read the motherboard manual) > set the hard drive you want to boot from first in the boot order menu. Odd are you had the 250GB first so I'd try that one as the boot. When you get it up and runnning run check disk and hard drive diagnostics.
