Today i have time playing with Core i7 920 CPU (Engineering sample), bounded with GIGABYTE EX58-Extreme board. And i got this :

is it a WR or not ?:shrug::shrug:

I think so but they are so new, what does cpu-z validator say? also submit it on hwbot that will tell ya for sure.

NOw tell us how did you get to 229 :p:

Thanks Harshal, boot at 180 MHz bus speed and using SetFSB to 229. Nothing special setting on BIOS, but i'm using special BIOS ;D.

PM me for this BIOS if somebody wants it.

nice work mate (amazing to see 229MHz there :o)

i think he used that super secret feature in Gigabyte bios :D

but seriously though i assume that the qpi link ratio used was on slow mode setting so that it doesnt exceed the 4000M limit :)

can you redo the tests and change QPI Link speeds from Slow Mode to higher ones and see if you can still reach the same QPI :)

Thanks mate !

I just set the QPI Link to AUTO, and got this result.:D

actually it may not be the case

you might have done something else (or the board on auto) to reach such amazing speeds dude

but whatever it is you have to try and get us the screenshot from ET6 as such high BCLK so that some of the other users can try to replicate your results :up:

Wonder whut's influencing the limit to get over 222MHz... time will tell (or someone). ;)

Why is the voltage not showing up in CPU-Z?? I would like to know what voltage's you had to use to reach that sort of clock on a i920

There is the voltage:)

If that is the correct bios volts without any windows program manipulation that is great. I seen others reach that OC but with at least 1.7+.
