Just as the title suggests. The thing is, my present monitor is a 20" LG widescreen @ 1680x1050. I'm thinking of picking the 2 side monitors in the classic 4:3 / 5:4 shape, but I don't know what screen size would match.

A not-really-educated guess suggests a pair of 17" at 1280 x 1024, for a total of 4240 x 1024 (with some thin black bars on the 20" up and down, I know that softTH can do it). This would be for playing racing sims, rFactor mainly, btw.

Am I on track with the size? I can't seem to find horizontal and vertical measurements for the different sizes/aspect ratios.

Thanks.

according to Matrox TH2G Digital Edition:

http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/

it can do 3x 1680x1050 - so why not do that?

On nV only (which he has so not an issue really). He also noted he wants 4:3/5:4. 1280x1024 is the way to go.

Given that things to the side fisheye with 17" screens, 22" screens would be just too much IMHO, not to mention the extra pixels and therefore extra work for the VGA. I've seen this kind of setup, 'tis awesome. Try and grab 19" screens, though, more real estate.

The thing is, I don't know the height (and I'm talking millimeters here, not pixels) of each kind of screen. My question in the first post is: what size of monitor (not widescreen) will fit in height with a 20" 16:10 WS?

My 20" LG is about 272mm height (or 10 11/16" if you prefer). Anyone has a non-WS 17" or 19" handy to measure for me? (I'm talking about the actual viewable area, not counting the frame and such)

Thanks.
