it doesn't matter as much as long as you got tim ontop of the cores which you did.

ermm ok.... lol dont want to be rude but might be most pointless thread ever.
Also best way to avoid this if your like me and worry... is to point it on cpu or heatsink and then fix into position as all will be covered.. only problem with painting is it is hard to keep it thin.

I saw this thread at OCN and I didn't really get it either. I always thought more is less with TIM so long as you cover the core it's all sweet. The thicker the layer the worse the performance :D.

means the cpu was concave and the put a rice sized drop in center and squeeze it down method doesn't work well. and no the heat is spread to all areas on the heatspreader so having all points of contact outside of the immediate areas of the cores would help
