I'm interested in seeing what sort of cooling temperatures people are getting with the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. I'm not too impressed with the temperatures on mine tbh. I've got a Q9550 C1 Stepping running at 3.485Ghz with 1.174v and I'm getting the following temps:

Load temps using Prime 95 are in the 50 - 55C range
Just wondering what results other users are getting so would appreciate some input.
Cheers.

50-55c load temps on a overclocked quad is normal I dont know why your dissapointed want better temps Lap it and use the washer mount mod for max pressure

I'm sure I've seen people getting lower idle temps so was just wondering if I have a dodgy cooler. I've lapped the cooler to 1500 grit and have stuck a washer in there but the cooler is still a bit loose due to the lapping, so could use another washer in there maybe. Load temps arent bad but I have something like 8 x 120mm fans in there and was expecting slightly lower temps. Maybe I'm just being fussy but either way it'd be good to see what everyone else is getting and maybe put my paranoid mind at ease. :P

I get 36C on both cores with E8600 @ 4.005 mhz @ 1.19 volts ive lap the TRUE but im not done lapping it yet ive only lightly lapped due to time restraints and I havent done the washer mod but I need to send my psu in for exchange fan is not working and during that time im going to complete several mods to the true
Lapping down to 2000 grit
Washer Mod
Push pull Fans
anothing to consider is the IFX-10 which cools the Backside if your mobo supports it

They're some pretty good temps for 4ghz. I'd hate to think what idle temps I'd get at 4Ghz. I have 2 x 120mm Akasa Amber fans on mine in Push-pull configuration. I took about half a day to lap my cooler, it wasn't mirror finish but quite close, it had a bit of a reflection from an angle. It made no difference with temps though, maybe if I stick another washer in there I could drop 1 or 2C off the temps.
I dont fancy spending any more cash on my pc, gonna just stick with what I have for now.

I'm on 3.8ghz E8500, and I get 32 idle temps with un-lapped cooler (mine was flat I got lucky).
max load temps in the 55 area with linpack.
