the question is not necessarily how much is it worth but how much could you sell it for... yes less than a grand is what its actually worth however to someone who only knows the rudimentaries of computers (and these or above are your market if its got water in it) then you could theoretically charge up to about $1500 for that rig and still be giving a deal compared to a manufacturer... however that is kinda price gouging and would say be happy with anything between $1000 and $1200
just my opinion though... thought about selling my rig and have offered it to people for $1700 and they were interested and i thought that number was outragous enough i would be laughed away...

the thing is that its a used product, thus it really cant be taken at market value at all. the only time you can compare a computer to a retail item in value is if it's brand new in perfect working order.

no one has to know its used on e-bay i would put it up for auction as a fresh build...decide the least amount your take for it and set that at the lowest amount your auction can sell for...the starting bid can start lower...if no one meats the price then you lose what $10 and thats if you use a lot of pics ....... hey dont hate me hate the game

Errr. Yeah. When I said $900, I meant new parts that have depreciated due to the market.
Definitely less now taking into account wear & tear.
OP, your best option is to part it out. Sell each piece individually.

Hahaha... it does come down to what the buyer wants to pay you. If they want to pay $1700 then why not?
You can leverage the fact that you have the full Vista x64 license which is pretty pricey, and that the computer is fully working and set-up with all the updates in Vista... and etc. Throw in some utilities and applications that the user might find useful.
BTW, don't be a piece of sh*t and sell a used product as brand new.
Say its used, say how long and under what conditions and reason with the seller to a fair price.

Perhaps, but listing the item as anything other than "Used" would be fraud, would it not?

i think it would go for ~750 ish on ebay, maybe a bit less.
Find a similar ad and see how much it goes for.
if not there is craigslist, and the forums here, though most people here aren't interested in full pc's
