View Full Version : Low profile pipeline HSF
I am looking for a decent heatpipe HSF that will do better than the Zalman CNPS-7700Cu at cooling a Q6600. There's a little over 90mm height clearance in the case. I looked around a bit on Newegg and only one I can really find that fits the spec is this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103046&cm_sp=MyNewegg-_-RctViewDC-_-Pst02Descrip). Anyone else know a better one?

That is very definitely not a low profile design.
Decent sink, but not low pro.
I'm not sure you'll be able to find something better than the 7700, I think there was a knockoff of it, maybe at SVC.
Yeah, here:

No heatpipes though, but really don't think you're gonna find much better than what you've got.

edit: @ techno its only 62mm tall why is it not a low profile design? besides according to frosty tech it is the best low profile cooler.

I guess their definition of low profile is different from mine. 63mm is what, almost 2 and a half inches? I mean, compared to a TRUE it's low profile, but still it wouldn't be suitable for use in an HTPC or something.
Just my opinion of course, if it'll fit by all means go for it.
Edit: And of course the one I listed doesn't fit the bill either. Looks can be deceiving, apparently.

a friend of mine donated a dell heatsink with a copper base and 2 heatpipes a short while back. i lapped it to only 1500 cos its finish was dire and it gave awesome results imo.
was a 3.2ghz p4 ht 775 and temps were only 20 something. i think the heatsink came from a optiplex. heatsink fins were in a V shape
