I believe that the bottom slot is 8x PCIe. Remember that it is 2.0 though so you still have a lot of PCIe bandwidth.

Full load temps are around 65c or so, but remember that I am using a Tuniq Tower Socket 775 cooler with modified with ties so that it can work :D I would not trust my temps as real world situations :) Since it is not mounted properly.
Here is a preview at the OC utility that will be bundled with the EVGA X58.

**This is not a flame, just curious and trying to get an idea of what's going on**
1.52v? That seems pretty high considering we've seen longer Prime runs at 1.36v
And 18 minutes of Prime isn't exactly 24/7 stable.
It's great for benching at those speeds, but what could you operate at full time?
Again, not trying to be negative, just looking for more information to help me decide which board to get.

I also see that EVGA's board has 10 SATA ports. I may give that a try first to see how it handles the 8x MTRON's in Raid 0, 1 more will be added shortly for 9x total, really the only option if a TRI SLI setup is used. Hopefully the ARC-1231ML can run nicely on this board also.

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and pretty new to pc upgrading and have no experience overclocking. I know I'm a nube, but I play pc games and use autocad software and order my custom built desktop to allow me to run the best settings possible. I built my pc with limited knowledge of what hardware was highly rated, but lately and pretty much since i got my pc its been running sluggish and gaming kinda sucks, but autocad runs great. I'm in the process of upgrading my ram, power supply and adding a 3rd geforce gts 250 to run in sli mode. What I'd really like doing is overclocking my intel i7 920 from 2.6ghz to 4ghz like shown in this thread. I'd really appreciate any help given and will do my best to learn. Can someone teach me how to do this overclocking or can you direct to some help?
Thanks for any help in advance, I know nubes can be annoying.

Ello! Welcome to the forum! :)
Search some threads on OC of 920, there are plenty of those around here. Also read up on some X58 experiences, if possible find the threads where you can read data on your specific motherboard.
Then when you understand the basics and get the general picture I'm sure some of the OC gurus will help you and you will be able to understand them when they guide you... Do not rush with it and hope you do have some decent cooling solution. Good luck! :)
