Does anyone know anything about R413 gas?
The guy who will be fixing my Prommie Mach 1 said it'd be better to use that than r134a and r404a. Is this true?
Would I be likely to have any problems with R413? Any other mods that will be required to use it?

Certainly NOT better than 404a... have to wait for Bowman for the rest.

nope.... if its compatabile with the oil in the prommy it would be like 4C better than R134A...
If you have to mod it use R404A

I might be wrong, but I thought R413 is meant as a drop-in for R12. In that case you are better off using R404a or R507.

But I'll need extra mods for R404a, anf I'll have LCD problems as the probe wont go below -50c will it?

Yeah, both R12 and R22 have been phased out I believe.

well here is the specs on all.
i wouldnt waste my time on 413.
you can use 404 without a cap change but you will have to adjust the charge to keep it from flooding the compressor, and it wont get as cold as it will with a cap change

Thanks, but it'll cost me 4x as much to get it topped up with r404a as the engineer has none :(
R413a it is :)
He's coming to fix it on Wednesday, looking forward to that :)

Ive used R22 in my prom (extra 220mm cap tube) when I ran out of R404a during some cap tube testing. It worked quite well and held my XP @ -42 deg C full load using 2.1V.
R404a is better though :)
