im puzzled on how to do this and even if it is possible
i have a 21 inch lcd tv 1024 x 768 for my movies and my 22inch asus moniter 1680 x 1050 for all my other stuff
every time i run a game with the movie on my tv just disables and pauses the movie
maybe cause i only have one vid card 9800 gtx ?????????
i have windows configuered to multiple display performance mode
so i just drag and drop wat ever i want
i know it works in windowed mode but i dont want that

another question i was hoping this was possible also when my girlfriend wants to watch a movie and i want to play a game she will be using the speakers i have connected to the aux port i also have my head phones connected to that same port with a double adapter which i will be using for my game
how can i stop the sound from the movie coming through the headphones while still having full sound for the game and the other way round too

also im not really after a work around hoping for somthing solid which i can set up permanatly then again it doesnt always work out that way aye

I also have the problem with running a movie and certain games at the same time, havnt found a solution at this time other then window mode. I guess its a problem with the way certain games want fullscreen.

The sound problem isnt so hard, i had a similar problem wanting to use vent and play music and films at the same time, so i installed a second sound card.

using the latest version of vlc just change the output module to "waveOut extension" and select the right sound card.

hope this is usefull.

Its caused by the movie player trying to use DX9 to play the movie, but the DX9 is already being used by the game.

you can get around it by using a more advanced media player such as media player classic (in the "combined community codex pack" - it REALLY good) and then changing the rendering engine to direct draw or something.

its a bit of a bodge and never works too well. The best solution is to use another computer or keep the game in windowed mode.
