Hi,

Since in the original thread nobody cares ot seomthing else i'd decided to ask this here then.

The new Asus Rampage II Extreme comes with a X-Fi bases pci-x1 sound card.

But if you look at the pins that fit in the pci-x1 slot, there are at the end of the card, so it would not get in the way of the heatsink placed on the chipset.

Now since I want to run SLI or Crossfire my only option is that bovest slot.

But all other pci-x1 cards are alot longer then the ones asus supplies with their board and they have their pins in the middle of the card.

So for an audiophile as me there is no other option then to equip the supplied sound card that comes with the board???

Where's the freedom to choose you own sound card???

Your best bet would prolly be running an external sound card such as this (http://www.soundblaster.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=208&product=17751) if you're gonna run SLI/CF to the point where you don't have space/the PCI slots are taken already. Otherwise, you'll end up using the supplied sound card.

u could get any PCIEx1 sound card & shove it the very last/bottom PCIEx16 slot

pci x1 fits in a pci x16 slot?

So then I can run sli/ crossfire and still have a pci x1 soundcard?
