I've read the Headset FAQ over and have looked at a lot of reviews, but have not been to draw any conclusions on what headset is right for me. The last Gaming headset I had was a Triton AX360 5.1. It was a great headset in my mind, until my nephew got a hold of it.
Question:
-How does a high-end stereo headset compare (Ie. Beyer Dynamics MMX 300) to a 5.1 headset like the Medusa 5.1? More or less how does a stero headset compare to a 5.1 surround sound headset? :confused:
My price limit is $450-$500 range.
I'd like a headset, I'm not interested in headphones, but maybe someone can change my mind on that. The headset would be for Ventrilo, WoW, CS:S, COD4 and my library for 5k plus iTune songs. I'm avid music listener, and game player but I know it's hard to get a headset with one set of cans to meet both fields. Microphone output quality needs to be excellent for all the Voice communications I do.
The two headsets I'm looking at now are, Beyer Dynamics MMX 300 and the Medusa 5.1 Gaming headset v2.
Any advice and or suggestions towards a headset would be great.
