hey, i searched @ xs and there are not many topics about it.
for those who still use creative cards have you ever tried the youp-pax drivers?
i am using them right now(after a quite long story on my audigy 2 zs plat.)
and the are defenetive total incredible, the 24bit sounds just like wow O_O.
10more days and i will get a x-fi titanium but i at least wanted to try them once.
found them in their forum @ youp-pax.org
i am using these:
PAX_Audigy_OS_V6.15.rar ( http://files.filefront.com/PAX+Audigy+OS+V615rar/;11958482;/fileinfo.html ).
here a quick guide how i installed them:
1. uninstall all your creative driver stuff, i completely removed everything
2. install the driver ( run setup.exe, nothing else)
3. reboot when the installer tells you to do so
4. listen to music with total new quality
i stumbled accross them a few times and finally wanted to try them and all
i have to say is just wow. (:
share your opinions about them, there are even x-fi drivers from them,
but i cant tell you my opinion about them, not now. :D will do so in about 10 days with the new x-fi i am getting.
heres the link for the x-fi ones if anyone is intrested:
normal x-fi PCI cards:
ver. 6.15 : http://files.filefront.com/PAX+X+Fi+OS+V615rar/;11950280;/fileinfo.html
ver. 6.20 : http://files.filefront.com/PAX+X+Fi+OS+V620rar/;12112026;/fileinfo.html
newer x-fi PCIe cards:
http://files.filefront.com/PAX+XFTI+V100rar/;12077982;/fileinfo.html
differences between these two are the following:
the PCI cards are basically the "old" ones, with the PCI interface
the PCIe cards are basically the "new" PCIe cards->x-fi titanium
hope this thread helps you quite a bit, share your opinions about them
