I want to get the Sound Blaster titanium. I have a 680i mobo and my PCI1x slots are covered by my northbridge heat sink and my video card heat sink.

Can I put this 1x PCI card in the 16x slot?? I can't see to find the answer...

Thanks for answering such a newb question.

Pretty sure you can. Might want to get more 'yes' replies though as I haven't tried it and am going by my memory of similar threads.

Yes it will, but you have to make sure that when you plug it in you wont cut your graphics card slot down to x8 bandwidth. Some motherboards have x16 slots, and when you plug a card in to the second slot the bandwidth gets split to both slots. I dont think getting a sound card is worth cutting the graphics bandwidth if your a gamer or have a high end card.

You can put any size PCI-E card (1x, 4x, 8x) into a 16x slot. And i believe the 680 has 2 FULL 16x PCI-E slots so won't steal lanes from each other .
Hope that helps
