From what I've read, the razer kit is the best bang for the buck one. But having a look at the official specs, the Steelseries one seems to be the most elitist and most focused on hardcore gamers.
Which one would you go for, if you have no budget limit?

Honestly any of them would be great. Do take note of the Lachesis' style as you finger the mouse instead of palming it. Since I've always been doing this, it's worked well for me. I briefly had a Ikari and it was so comfortable to rest your hand on. However it just didn't really work for me so I sold it to a friend.
Once again, I think they are all good and don't think you would notice the extra 24893 simultaneous key strokes with the Steelseries keyboard over the others. :p:

While I am a Logitech fan, the options you have provided make it a very tough choice. For the keyboard, my obvious choice would be the Licosa, the rest seem a little too big for me, and I know for a fact the G15 is way too big for me. What I mean by big, is very thick and very tall keys, and they feel slow anyway. I hate tall keys for this reason. :shakes: For the mouse any one of them would do, but as MomijiTMO said, the Lachesis can only truly be appreciated by people who like that style. I like the Lachesis because it seems lighter and fits my hand well. The G9 also feels good, but I feel that my hand "lags" me during gaming.

Pick the one that is the most comfortable for you.

MX518 or Deathadder for mouse, best mice for gaming proven both scientifically and used by allmost all highskilled/professional players. MX518 is usually a bit more comfortable because its a bit bigger, and higher. You can rest you palm on the mouse very relaxed. Deathadder is smaller and lower, instead of resting ur hand on it, u hold it with ur fingers.
I've owned the MX500/510/518/G5 and allmost all Razer mice :)
keyboard is less important, choose the board that has the right amount of feedback and "click" to it that you find best. If your a low sens player u might want to look at keyboards that are a bit shorter from the WASD keys to the right end of the keyboard. Like the Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard that has a removeable numpad.
my tip: ignore the brand marketing and the superficial reviews from generic hardware site's, look at people who really use the hardware to its potential. Check out esports related websites, or dive into esport community's and you'll see what everyone uses :)

Well yeah that's another option. Seems solid.

I would buy another razer keyboard without a thought, but I stay with logitech for mice. Just don't like the razer mice, and if logitech would make a MX style corded mouse I would be in love.
IMO razer tarantula keyboard, and the G7 are where its at.

I will say that the G7 is the BEST mouse I ever owned, but they are plagued by that "one click = double click" issues (google it) if I didn't experience that (and they had two side buttons instead of one) it would rank numero uno.

razer mouse and ocz keyboard.
keyboards dont do t0o much, and the ocz ones are the most reasonably priced, and are actually pretty nice.

Logitech G9 and Razer Lycosa.
I have gone through many mice and G9 definitely fits my hand the best.
It will be different for you though; I recommend going to the shop or someone who has such mouse and trying it yourself.
And Lycosa is a very good keyboard. It has the best of laptop keyboards and old mechanical clicking ones in one. Response is perfect, typing is very comfortable, which is important as I type much more than game these days. I only wish it had mute button on the touchpad, because with ASUS Xonar when I lower the volume to 0 in Windows, I can still hear some.

Logitech Wave Keyboard - Razer Lachesis Mouse. Best combo ive found so far. I do really like the look of the MS Keyboard though with the swappable numpad. Looks pretty nice.

I like the combination of the Merc Stealth keyboard by Ideazon along with the G9 mouse from Logitech. I also love the MX-518 mouse as its the most comfortable mouse I have ever used.

MX-518 is the best mouse ever, if you're right handed ;)
It has a comfortable thumb groove, combined with it's size and overall contour which makes controlling the mouse very easy..
Also the tracking feet are smooth as butter..
whats the mouse for? for mmo games the steelseries mmo mouse is by far the best with so many buttons.. for fps i like mx518/deathadder/steelseries ikari optical(the best i think)
as far as keyboard go, do you need macro buttons? if not, steelseries 7g is an amazing keyboard, the feel is outstanding, keyboards are very subjective but i think anyone can enjoy this one
if you need macro buttons then i believe razer lycosa is the best, but i have not tried many of the other keyboards, but this one has low buttons with a nice feel, i think rubberized key surfaces so your fingers dont slip, it feels like felt

+1, I had mine for a year and I love it :D
I think I'll buy another one since this one started to peel off on one side due to the intensive use and it doesn't look so good anymore..

What is the difference between the 6G and the 7G? They looks nearly identical to me. I myself use a 7G and a Wolfking Timberwolf. For games I use the Wolfking, for everything else the 7G. Love them both and don't think I could ever use anything else again.

Another vote here for the MX518\G15 combo. Mouse is amazing and the keys on the G15 feel sooo good. And the screen is actually a lot more useful than you'd expect at first, there are all sorts of cool little apps you can get for it.

used to use a 518, switched to a Razer Copperhead, very nice mouse in my opinion.
for keyboard I haven't got a clue but I heard very good things about the G15 so its prolly pretty good

razer and ms are working on blue laser mice, less frequency range = more responsiveness.
As for keyboard i'd stick with something with aluminum keys. They feel nicer when your gaming :). Deathadder suites my needs so that gets my vote, the logitech is just as good though just with a different grip.

I have a collection of Mice and Keyboards... spent easily $500 in the last 6 months looking for a good combo and probably $1,200 in the last 2 years.
I am on my 2nd Logitech G7 (same as the MX518, but cordless) and am about to toss this 3 week old Razer Lycosa in the graveyard. Just cannot get use to the ultra-slim keys.
The original G15 was a decent keyboard, but you cannot bind (hold down) more than 5 keys, because it won't register them all. (Some call this ghosting..?) So I tossed that out too.
Anyone know if the new G15 suffers from the 5< key bindings ..? Or has a similar keyboard that is a logical choice. Uno, something thats not a gimmick, has great keys that has the characters that light up (not back lit)
I haven't tried any of the Steel products yet, guess I might order one this week, but I would rather feel it in person if I could.
On a side note, I wish Logitech made a smaller version of the G7, I'm a twitch mouse player (small hands) and haven't found a functional mouse I prefer either. Why are these companies so afraid to make a good mouse..?

You really should try the G9. I am a wrist gamer too and it is very comfortable.

I just recently smashed my razor lachesis to bits and replaced it with a logitech mx512, the 1800dpi version. It is light years better than the lachesis, steady and very realiable but it does lack in the dpi adjustability(400max is a little to high for me in cod4). The razor mouse could go down to like 175 if i remeber correcty but 275-300 was what i liked most in cod4

*sigh*
I think I might like that smaller Finger mouse by Razer, but I don't see any buttons or how you can adjust resolution on the fly... even though on their web-site Razer indicated that you can. ?? Anyone know how you do this.
I really like the Salmosa (http://www2.razerzone.com/MouseGuide/results), but why in the hell doesn't it have the extra buttons..? What gives? I just don't get it.... PLEASE offer the same mouse in 3 different sizes for those who have 3 different size hands -or- have three different playing styles (palm, claw and finger/twitch)... *dee dee dee*
I'm going to call them and see if I cannot get in contact with a ergo engineer and find out why they cannot make a $150 mouse for twitch mousers...!!!
Extremely frustrated!

On the Lachesis you use the two buttons behind the scroll wheel to adjust DPI. You can also change the individual DPI settings, and which buttons control them.
