Budget? Bellow 200 dollars.
Looking to just listen to music, doesn't have to be real fancy or anything.
Logitech Z-2300 2.1 speakers
or the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
Any other suggestions would be helpful
I still havent decided on a sound card yet.

I have the ProMedia 2.1's and they are very good, very clean and good bass. I can't speak for the Z-2300's however.
Behringer B2031P should be good, the speakers you listed are basically garbage for music :).

Well it actually depends on what kind of music you'll want to hear.
If you hear mainly house or drum&bass, which is a kind of music that is based on a potent bass beat and some wiggly trebles, both the Klipsch and the Z2300 are actually adequate for the job.
However, if you're really into music listening (classical, old school rock, cuban, bossa nova, jazz, etc), you'll rather haver a pair of some good studio monitors. This means having two "full-range" speakers, instead of having a potent bass and a potent treble, leaving all the mid-frequencies on the dust (this happens on computer 2.1 sets like the ones above).
The problem with studio monitors is that they are generally passive so you'll also have to buy a stereo amplifier (and those aren't usually very cheap).
For less than 200 dollars.. you can get the JBL Control One for a little over 100$ and then try to find a stereo amplifier for about the same price.

Heh, Yeah thats actually what I do listen to is Drum and Bass.
Well still keeping the under 200 dollars. I might go with the promedia 2.1. I heard logitech's mid range is not very good but has better bass, but promedia has crisp sound quality is hard not to pass up.
If anyone has anymore suggestions feel free to pitch in, I am mostly going by what I read on search in these forums and the Klipsch promedia 2.1 are highly favored here. For 2.1 that is.

@ToTTenTranz
That doesn't happen if speakers have high and mid driver in satelittes and subwoofer for low freq. Or is not that obvious...

Are these studio monitors?
Audio Engine A2B

And do I need a sub for these? says it built in
Uhhh man I really confused guys lol, feel like I am going no where with this. They don't even make promedia anymore.

I got myself the Bose Companion 3 computer speakers/subwoofer from Sam's Club for $199. I love them. The sound for such a small set of speakers is amazing. I good soundcard helps also. I am currently using Creative's Titanium card. I also have a pair of Motorolla HT800 (?) wraparound bluetooth/wired headphones for late night listening. Very good sound for $80!

+1
Behringer, Audioengine A2 or A5, Swan M10 are basically good for music and gaming. Just search for Audiophile and Head-Fi forum, their recommendation would be same as mine.

Have you considered headphones instead? I would take a 200 dollar pair of headphones over a 200 dollar set of desktop speakers any day.
(currently listening to Led Zepplin "bring it on home" on my ATH-ad700s)

Acoustic Energy Aego M's are also a contender. At £99, In the US I assume they would be around the $200 range.

Nah, these are computer headphones only, plenty of power from my modded x-fi. I have ran these with an amp before but I really didn't get much from it but added noise. I may upgrade to the Claro Halo though, i doubt i will get much from be besides bragging rights :p:.
