I've JUST started to get the same error after months of perfect running. Fer no apparent reason it just won't connect to LCD now... HOWEVER, my Win2000 install on the same rig works perfectly... nothing has changed either...
I'm wonderin whether this could be a result of a spurious windowsupdate....

If it says "connect to USB failure in the Prometeia Control Panel, then there is something wrong with yur usb drivers. You will need to get the lastest WinXP updates and get the latest Chipset INF. I had a same problem and had the problem fixed when updating my CHipset software.
Also make sure the usb connector is correctly placed at both ends. Mine fell off when i messed around with it. And make sure u follow your mobo manual for the correct placement.
If u dont have the new firmware. here it is:

Well after a update of Win, it works fine....hopfully for a long time.?
its nothing to do with windows, usb drivers, usb cables, windows updates, firmware or anything else. its to do with the fact that their software has a serious bug in it and you need to get their new version (1.22) which is now (at LONG LONG LAST on their website) which fixes the problem.
I posted before about a strange temp problem with my mach2
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18753&highlight=strange
I am now pretty certain it was this firmware upgrade that screwed my temps because JUST after re-uploading this firmware again, for about 1 second, it reads my old temp of -52c and then starts dropping (when i boot up it goes down to about -42 then again starts dropping and in about 15 seconds ends up on about -30 where it will then stay). But after re-uploading it it does not do this, it quickly drops from the split second -52 down to about 37-38. So I am pretty damn sure its the firmware that has screwed my temp readings and it DEFINATELY has something to do with it.
So on that note I desperately need someone who has the original mach2 firmware so that I can stick that on and hopefully solve these temp problems. Also anyone that uploads this new firmware, keep a close eye on evap temps and see if yours does the same.
