my opinion is that games must entertain us in our free time, not in our free "life"... I keep saying that to myself every day because i use to be a counter strike addict for 2 years..There was times and i was so wrong and i didn't realize that i was losing friends , college party's and a lot of fun because i over did it (more that 4-5 hours free time) ... The main reason that my pc is old and i never upgraded is games and addiction

Never played WoW EVER. Obviously I'm not going to be like that person but I just don't have any time/cash for a life sucking addiction :D.

99% of people who play WoW have no life whatsoever anyway and someone who spends that much time and effort on it clearly has nothing to live for in this world and has to spend their days on a computer playing a game with himself.

It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule. Not bad considering I’m looking at it like it’s a hobby and there are more expensive hobbies out there than World of Warcraft.
That's crack addict's excuse.

lol... so i'm one of the 1% that has a life, a successful business, wife and 3 kids, drive a dream car (see what car you drive thread) all even before i reached 40?
ha ha ha... but honestly, yea many kids and folks there are addicts... i enjoy the game... i enjoy the community... guess i like this whole MMO thing...
i can see where it gets addicting...
but on a serious note... the dude got issues... lol

WHY?!?

Yea i guess you can tell i really despise WoW. I tried it a few times but i just cant find the interest. Im all for some MMO games just not that one.
kinghong1970
10-14-2008, 10:34 AM
i hear ya Scubar... it's not for everyone... heck, if my friends did not play... i'd given up on it a while ago...
i've met some good friends within the game tho... nice peoples... but again... not for everyone...

At least he doesn't have to worry about Vent or toons dropping out mid-RAID as it will be his on solo RAID. Also he never has to sit there waiting for people to goto the bathroom, answer doors, yell at there sisters. WoW it's all just looking like pluses.....
Poor guy has probably never has any interaction with the opposite sex and he really reminds me of that SouthPark eposide.

I think that is extreme, just as extreme as this forums, dont dis him because you can't do it, he found something he is good at, let him do it

combination of Keyclone and some KVM setup enables him to transmit the key press of one application to other applications as well as other PC's...
there's a website dedicated to Dualboxing/Multiboxing on Warcraft...
as long as he is in control of the characters and their movements, this is actually acceptable and not against the game rules...

Baffled...
I played WoW since 2004, when it came out (was also in open beta). Pretty much played till Summer of last year on and off. It was fun while it lasted, but of course a lot of people take WoW playing far too seriously. I found raiding and PvP in the game trivial at best.
The MMO genre needs a breath of fresh air. Take away the Theme Park style MMO like WoW and bring back the old Sand Box games like Ultima Online and Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies.

Well that's what I was thinking is he the guy behind:
wowgold.com
wowpowerleveling.com
And all those other crappy sites you used to get spammed in WoW and even on some forums now-a-days. Could be the way he pays for his addiction and he just has his "main" get all the loot all the time.

Sad i say, thats a huge waste of money at least IMO, add it up, $5700 for 1 year sub, $1440 for each expansion, and another $800 for the Original game, then at least $150 for each LCD monitor, and i see at least 6 or so laptops there that has to be at least another $900-1000 each for the low end and i doubt low end can run 4 wow's at the same time so its probly around $1500 for each laptop, not counting the PC's he has under the desk and those fancy mice and keyboards he has. Can you imagine the power all that would use too ? I doubt 1 wall socket has enough for that
you can level a toon to max level in wow in a month without trying hard and sell it for 300$+, sell 10 or so per month and the cost is suddenly much less of an issue.
99% of people who play WoW have no life whatsoever anyway and someone who spends that much time and effort on it clearly has nothing to live for in this world and has to spend their days on a computer playing a game with himself.
Actually that doesnt apply to wow unlike other mmorpgs, 90% of the wow players are people who never even considered a mmorpg before and dont play more than 2 -3 hours per week, its less than 1% that has no life and does nothing else, then there are the other 9% which are what would be a casual player in others mmorpgs (read, less than 40 hours playtime per week).
LMAO!
yea, no afk, bio, smoke break, no drama, no crying about loot...
Spot on why many prefer having more than one account.

Powerlevel toons and sell them, easiest way, besides, he doesnt need 36 acc's for anything, raids have room for 25 people, having 11 acc's to spare does sound like he would sell them.

Its against the rules if you control diff class's, its ok if you have the same class.
Blizzard sets no limitation on what classes you can run.

Wow  that guy needs a women and a bike
no doubt!!!
kinghong1970
10-16-2008, 06:32 AM
You dont get it. You cant multibox diff class's at the same time with that program that this guy is using push 1 button and it controls the other 4 ect. You cant have a Warrior,Paladin, Priest, Lock, rogue all being run by at the same time by that multibox program he is using to control those char's. Its against the rules and you will be permantly banned if caught.
It is however ok to run 5 warrior's or 5 shamans, or 5 paladins at the same time. Trust me there was a blue post about this awhile back
It is also ok if you have say 2-3 instances of wow open all being diff class's as long as you arent able to control all 3 at the same time meaning you have to click on one window to move one and open the other to move that
well, that does make sense because Keyclone transmits key presses...
so keys can be mapped "intelligently" for a warr and pally and basically, with lots of practice, a 2boxer can have a very good chance at winning 2x2 arena...
i tried it... just cant get used to the movements and stuff...
didn't want to mess with the learning curve.

Hmm... Just pointing something out. That room has got to be like 100+ degrees with all that hardware running in it. My room used to get hot with one computer in it.
And c'mon guys, please tell me XS members are arguing over WOW. If you guys will be exchanging usernames and servers, it should be so you two should play together, not so you can report each other. It is a childish argument, and who is to say that you are not both right?

Well just thinking if the guys "social life" with the opposite sex, which maybe severly limited, but just imagine the internet porn sessions he could have (we all do it at some stage or are liers or are tending towards death), 20-30 different chicks at once doing whatever perversions your mind could dredge up at once, it would be tending towards sensory overload. Personally I'm a bit confused do I admire this potential or relish the missus (and associted stresses) I have?!?
DukeDaal
10-18-2008, 03:38 AM
Well first of all we don't know the guy, so I wouldn't judge him
And second... He is right. I mean how many people on these forums BUY hardware just to have the best. I bet there is some, who obsess over hardware spending 30,000 dollars a year. So I don't think in my mind its that crazy, its his hobby.
Not to mention audiophiles who buy 50,000 dollars of technology to get the best sound... but don't even really listen to it because their busy getting... MORE of the best sound. I think THAT'S more insane then this. IMO
Does he probably have no life? Yea, could he also be botting to level those chars? Why would he tell us? Well he wouldn't.
We also don't know how old he is unless I skipped it in the article, so he could be retired and have plenty of money.
Its insane... Obsession is a deadly thing :)
