I have a DDC 3.2 with a danger den top on it and the propeller hits the top of the top and makes a clicking noise. there is no air in the loop i have tried moving the pump and shaking it to get any air out. I have rma'd the pump and top and still have the same problem. I centred it the best i can and still have the noise the only things that helps is slowing down the flow by kinking the hose.
i have a few more ideas on how to maybe fix this. One being to use a y spilter to use both inlets thoughts behind this being maybe the pump is pushing more than the water its getting causing the propeller to lift. Idea number to is to sand the top so the propeller has to lift up higher to hit the top. i thought i might get other oppinons before trying ethier of these.

GET OUT THE SILLY PUDDY
use 1/8 layer of soft silly puddy in cavity and screw pump together, then open an check clearances of the puddy
question: what is the pump orientation, any pic of set-up?
caution sanding impeller asking for trouble, this will unbalance the rotor.
if sanding top ? this will decrease space
sanding cavity ?

i meant sand the top where the propeller hits i will take some pics later. Where do i put the silly putty?

Sanding the bottom of the pump top sounds good to me...just be sure the material there isn't too thin. :D

what about the y idea any thoughts on that. I don't want to sand it if i don't need to i don't think DD would warenty it if i messed it up.

i know the green on the blue tubing is wierd but i thought making the water thicker would help the noise.

dude b4 you do anything stupid and irreversible, email DangerDen, and let them know.
They might even just swap a top with ya as long as you didnt mod it.

for silly puddy place on top of rotor and bottom
since you have out, dismantle it an check the cermic center under the rotor and ball on motor
for any nicks, cracks and feel how strong are the magnets
( caution don't let it snap back in place by magnets )
also check balance of rotor by rolling it on a surface, with magic marker lines on rotor to see if keeping same speed an not roll like a egg.

Errr I can only mount my pump top one way as all other ways touch the impeller. Have you thought of that?

dafeeessh, try posting this on DD's boards as well, maybe JERM or someone else might have a better clue....it is their product after all. ;)

danger den says that they can't do anything for the pump since i put the top on it which makes no sense because i have done it once before. maybe i will send the top in for replacement. i also read on DD forum about using a fan controller to slow the pump and the noise goes away.

i think the noise is caused by a low restriction loop only thing that makes sense if you ask me. Moneys a bit tight right now otherwise i would by a new block like a north bridge block to see if that helps.
