Hi, i'm currently setting up 2 loops, one will have ek-supreme, thermochill pa120.0, ek-nb s-max. The other one will have 2 x ek-fc4870, swiftech mcr220 and both will have an ek res and using 1/2" tubing.
I have 2 pumps, mcp355 and mcp655 and i'm wondering which pump to use with which loop. I've heard that the ek-supreme waterblock is a bit restrictive so i'm wondering if i should use the mcp655 or will that be overkill? and instead use it for the 2 gpus.

If you have a top for the 355, that should go on the CPU loop.
655 on a Supreme is like going Elephant hunting with a paintball gun, all your going to do is annoy the Elephant.

Wait, im confused. Isnt the MCP655 (D-5) a lot better than the MCP355? I think it is. Id use the 655 on the CPU and the 355 on the GPU's. Also, I probably consider switching the rads, using a little less restrictive rad for the EK Supreme, although it really wont make all that much of a diff.
Just a quick tip, Im using the GT Stealth 240 and 120 (needed some thinner rads) and they LOVE high CFM's. I know BI says they are optimized for low flow fans, but I dont see it.

That depends on if he has a replacement top for the 355. With the aftermarket tops on the 355, the 355 has much better head pressure than the 655. And the Supreme needs alot of hea... uhm pressure to work at it's best. But if it has the stock top, with it's 3/8" barbs, then yes, the 655 is better.

Head pressure changes with the size of tubing/barbs used, correct? I know the stats claims the 355 has a higher head than the 655 but thats measured with 3/8" barbs. Wouldnt the pressure decrease going to 1/2" barbs?
I would also guess that the 3/8" conversion kit with the 655 would greatly increase its head pressure as well?
I guess this is where Matrinm210 comes in with one of his ever helpfull graphs.

Not as much as you'd think. I once did a test with a CSP-Mag (weak pump, I know), but between 1/2 I.D. tubing and 3/8 I.D. tubing, I only got roughly a 1/8" variation.
