hi
F2-8800CL5D-4GBPI wrong rated at 1.8v~1.9v for 1100mhz
with 1066 and 1.9v my rig fails at post, bios setup, boot, etc...
my mobo is dfi lp lt x48-t2r with bios 8.29
cpu q6600 at 400x9 1.45000v and all memory auto settings except voltage and divider 400/1066
so i start to test voltages and memtest86+ v2.01:
1.936v - fails - 0:00:02
1.941v - fails - 0:00:07
1.958v - fails - 0:02:29
1.972v - fails - 0:02:00
1.985v - fails - 0:03:24
2.000v - fails - 0:09:55
2.010v - fails - 0:10:07
2.030v - fails - 0:10:59
2.050v - ok - 4:06:28 with 7 passes
because memtest86+ is not windows so i put it at 2.1v
2.1v for 1066 is not 1.9v advertised for 1100
any ideas what cause this?
thanks

undervoltage of the mobo ? Trfc to 55 ? most users/reviewers get them at 1100(+) speeds at 1.9 volts... bad set ?

What's your timings? Grab MemSet (http://www.tweakers.fr/download/MemSet.exe) and post a screenie.

memset show 52 in trfc
all memory settings in auto except voltage
i also test it with 800 4-4-4-12:
1.710v - fail - 0:11:52
1.738v - fail - 0:11:52
1.744v - fail - 0:11:52
1.751v - fail - 0:11:52
1.759v - fail - 0:49:56
1.765v - - ok - 4:49:38 with 7 passes
2.050v at 1066 5-5-5-15 an 1.765v at 800 4-4-4-12
huge 0.285v difference

it might be the motherboard compatible issue since every mobo is different. you can send back for rma but if repalcement does the same, then it is mobo voltage problem.
Most likely bad sticks or you messed up the timings. My first kit maxed out at 525Mhz (thanks g.skill :shakes:) and wouldn't go beyond even at 2.5v. New kit does DDR1100 1.706v via DMM :):

Also DFI x48 needs DS/DSS tweaked:

yesterday i have tested the 2 memory bars separately in the 4 slots and one by one
-----/-----
memory default settings in bios (nothing changed)
epp profile 1066 5-5-5-15 1.9v
tested with memtest86+ 2.01 booted from floppy
-----/-----
q6600 at stock and 5 genie bios settings changed:
dram speed: 400/1066
cpu feature | thermal management control: disabled
cpu feature | ppm(eist) mode: disabled
cpu feature | c1e function: disabled
voltage settings | vcore droop control: disabled
and the results are:
first bar with serial 137 at dimm1: ok 5 passes at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 137 at dimm2: ok 5 passes at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 137 at dimm3: fail 7m at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 137 at dimm4: fail 7m at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 138 at dimm1: ok 5 passes at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 138 at dimm2: ok 5 passes at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 138 at dimm3: fail 7m at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 138 at dimm4: fail 7m at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
slots 3 and 4 only stable with dram voltage control: 2.05v
-----/-----
q6600 at 400x9 with 1.45000v and 7 genie bios settings changed:
cpu clock: 400
dram speed: 400/1066
cpu feature | thermal management control: disabled
cpu feature | ppm(eist) mode: disabled
cpu feature | c1e function: disabled
voltage settings | cpu vid control: 1.45000v
voltage settings | vcore droop control: disabled
and the results are:
first bar with serial 137 at dimm1: ok 5 passes at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 137 at dimm2: ok 5 passes at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 137 at dimm3: fail 7m at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 137 at dimm4: fail 7m at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 138 at dimm1: ok 5 passes at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 138 at dimm2: ok 5 passes at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 138 at dimm3: fail 7m at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
first bar with serial 138 at dimm4: fail 7m at 1.9v 5-5-5-15
slots 3 and 4 only stable with dram voltage control: 2.05v
-----/-----
slots 1 and 2 memory working well
slots 3 and 4 are completely unstable
i'm 100% sure that it's dfi problem
compatibility problems or board broken
what you think?

its not the board
the board just loves powerchips it actually clocks powerchips better than any board i have

high straps requiring more dram volts and making system unstable
fsb at 400 and strap 266:667=1000 works with 1.904v stable
and fsb at 400 and strap 400:1066=1066 requires 2.050v unstable
seems powerchip ics works well under tight timings
strange behavior
straps:
200:667 (3:5)
200:800 (1:2)
266:667 (4:5) 1.904v stable
266:800 (2:3)
333:667 (1:1)
333:800 (5:6)
333:1066 (5:8)
400:800 (1:1)
400:1066 (3:4) 2.050v unstable
