Well on my 680i lt i can only clock my Q6600 to 3.0ghz i can get it to 3.1ghz it worked for a day then when i booted it the next day blue screens everywhere. And when ever i leave the 13 hundred FSB range the systems locks up. Is there a way to fix this? would a bios update help cause im using stock bios.

and whats the differance between an XFX bios update and an nvidia bios update on the xfx site?

Updating your BIOS would likely help. I have a BIOS that works on either. If you PM me your email address than I will get it over to you. You have to worry about what each component in the system can handle and may have to do a little tweaking. If you still have all of your voltages at auto than it is probably time to start playing around. We would need to know your system specs and your memory timings and system voltages to start.

Thanks for the reply right now i have ocz reapers these are the specs on it from newegg.com i havent messed with the timings reallly only the volts to see if the ram was an issue for poor ocing but it wasnt.

It just let you into the Award Flashprogram, but you did that by using the boot cd. Its the same thing, but two ways to do it.
Its very hard to get any good OCing done with a Quad and the 680i chipset. Do you have a Dual core you could try?

Ya but I've seen many people get to a 3.4 on a LT and ive saw 3.6 on a normal 680i with a q6600. theres gota be someway to reach that.

I've had difficulty OC'ing my Q6600 on my XFX 680i LT SLI board. It umm, just doesn't work that well. Other forums I've read seem to generally support the idea that the 680i boards just aren't good for Quad OCs.

The last three days I had mine at 3Ghz with Voltage at Auto (which it chose 1.4 volts). Was able to play Crysis for 3hours a night for three nights and everything was great.

Tonight I bumped my FSB to 1425 (3.2Ghz). Problem is, this board has some pretty significant VDroop on it. If I manually set it to 1.4 Volts CPUZ says I run 1.328 volts @ 100% load.

Right now I'm testing out 3.2Ghz (1425 FSB) @ 1.425 volts. Each notch below that has eventually rebooted my system while running Prime 95. Course, @ 1.425 volts CPUZ shows 1.352 volts at 100% load.

There any legal (non warranty voiding) way to convince this board to put in the volts you tell it too? Instead of altering so much via VDroop? I'd rather manually set 1.35, than have to put in 1.425 to obtain 1.35 effectively.

Oh yeah, I'm using the latest P08 BIOS for the board too.
