XFX 8800gs vcore needed.Seen another thread about that but was insuficient and the picture too blury......Thanks.The xfx doesn't have the reference design.

Agreed, it's a bit blurry. Can you post a detailed pic of the area?

The mod itself is 5kΩ VR between the poles of the marked resistor 'n' cap.

No, the red lines point the soldering locations for the variable resistor.
