Got a free copy of this and was wondering if I should just eBay it or is it a good game worth keeping? Been a few years since I gamed. Any suggestions?
its hard to judge if a game is worth keeping to someone else but I just finished the story mode yesterday, I guess I can share a few thoughts..
- lots and lots of complains from players about bugs. most of them due to the protection system that was used. some drives won't recognize the discs, some systems will give errors and not run etc.. AFAIK the biggest issues are with multiplayer and terrorist hunt mode, I was only interested in the single player/story mode and that worked fine for me, not a single crash. no problems with the disc either. but I haven't tested multiplayer so
- graphics are pretty decent, nothing too amazing if compared to current releases but nice.
- the controls are a bit improved on this new version, less keys to use, same results
- its pretty short, only 7 missions. Gameplay is pretty much the same as the last vegas. did you play rainbow six vegas (1)?
my biggest rant on this game would be somewhat of a spoiler so I won't go there.
You said that you haven't gamed in a while, there are so many better titles out there right now, as much as I love rainbow six, this wouldn't be my #1 choice by any means...

I had rainbow six vegas (1) but sold it to another XS member when it was new. .
I don't have much spare time and would like a first person shooter that would be OK for younger kids also. Violence doesn't matter but language does. Any suggestions? thanks

I like 2 more than one, very nice tactical game i thought.

well honestly you got me there... its probably the last thing I pay attention to. I think you could check out Call of Duty 4, IMHO the best FPS out there right now. but sorry, really not sure as far as the language thing goes..

+1 for COD4. There is a bit of bad language but nothing you wouldn't find in, say, a M15+ movie.

same here, 2 ws awesome. Co-op rox
Best co op game out right now (thats newer). I love its predecessor more (Raven Shield) but am sick of dealing with general protection fault errors every time I play it. I have to underclock my card and turn sli off, and still half the custom maps crash. I have a custom config I might publish, pm me your email if you want it. It tightens shotgun patterns, changes mag capacity to real specs on Scar and G3 (20rds) and ups damage to compensate. Suppressor damage changed to reward stealth, quicker kills with them on. We do this cause AI dont use them.

If you have it for PC, toss it.
I bought it for PC originally, but the lack of high resolution or widescreen support made it look like crap. I later borrowed a friends PS3 version and it looks much better on the PS3.
The gameplay is a blast. There are lots of weapons to play with and its one of the better games online.

What game are you talking about? RS Vegas 2 has widescreen support, AA, etc.
He means 1, I'm sure. For Vegas 1 I use the Squizzy WS patcher from widescreengamingforums. Lets me set whatever I want. Oh, BTW, I'm now plagued with GPF's in Vegas 2, as well.

Hmm.......damn well i just ordered Vegas 1 for $10  I beat COD4 already, just ordered Bioshock as well. I have the orange box and just about all other shooters i don't like. Already have the online shooters, BF2 and 2142. Crysis, forget it too expensive and it won't even run decently.
