I have got an asus maximus extreme motherboard.
I am running two gainward hd4850 videocards in it, the ones with dual slot cooler.
They run cool, but with a lot of fan noise. So i want to replace the stock fans but want to keep the cooling block on it.
When i keep the cards in slot 1 and 2 I need to put 60mm fans on the card, and i would rather take bigger fans.
Thats why I want to have bigger space between the cards so i can put like 2 90mm fans on the cards. I dont know if the lanes become 8x when i do this?
My setup:
E8500@3.9ghz@1.26v cooled by a CM hyper z600 with dual zalman zm-f3
appacer ddr3 @1400@8-7-7-15@1.58v

Stacker 831 with a lot of fans
Coolermaster realpower 700 watt.
WD se16 640gb in Raid 0
