Har har, I'm back into memory testing again! :D
I'd like to thank my friends, Balazs ( Achill3uS ) from CSX and Gabor ( Jugeen ) for letting me play with another Micron D9GTR kit
I have high hopes for this kit, so... hold your breath :D
I'm finishing a PC repair and I'll start testing asap ( maybe tonight ) :)

Initial Testing results on the Asus Striker II Extreme:
Test Setup:
Asus Striker II Extreme 790i Ultra SLI motherboard ( BIOS v1103 )
Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 "Banana Edition" ( Overclocking CHImP :D )
2GB CSX Diablo DDR3-2000 D9GTR
RAM Cooling: Asus Dominator AirFlow
Asus GeForce GTX 280
Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3
They're fully stable at DDR3-2000 7-7-6-21 1T with more relaxed sub-timings, I just wanted to squeeze some more MB/s out of them now.
It's been a while since my last session with the Striker II Extreme and I kinda forgot some stuff and "NB related" timings limits. But I'll work them out tomorrow.

Yes! I looked at her ( the Striker II Extreme obviously ) and said the b**** word when I saw the error pop-up :(

Well, this kit is getting really popular. Anyway, are they guaranteed D9GTR chips, or it's up to luck???? I read that their retail version is coming in GTS as well.

:) Yes they are guaranteed, as you can see on the memory label, it could come with D9GTR or GTS.

I would love to have one more set of DDR3 GTR Pure Power! on my benching rigs!!!
It's a pretty honest move by CSX to have the chip model written an a label where the buyer can see it.
Can't wait to see you shove 2.3V+ up this ram @ss. :D
I love my kit but i haven't got the nerves to give more than 2.2V. :chicken:

I will make sure you guys will get good D9GTR's on sale available. GTR's are back, GTS's are running out.

My new Diablo 2000 have GTR's ;) Old one GTR's was working 980 7-6-6-15 with 2.18V. I must check this new stick's.

Just popped 'em on my old trusty P5K3 Deluxe ( the good one :D ) and I'm trying to get them to run at DDR3-1900 7-6-5-18 stable... with 2.23V I have about 10 errors and totaling 22 on the third loop.
Let's see...
Achill3uS
09-29-2008, 01:49 PM
maybe coz of the voltage is too high for memtest stability (or you need more higher vmch on that P5K3 :D)
but as far as i remember in ASUS X48 mobos 1900 7-6-6-18 was for me memtest stable with GTR Diablo at 2.10v
looking fwd to see your results Bill, ive just seen you've got 0838 week, i have also from this week one kit and its amazing :)

Currently setup up a Windows XP installation on the Striker II Extreme.
Max stable 7-7-6-x should be around DDR3-2000 - DDR3-2020.
Will post some results soon :D

what are you getting on everest for 5-5-5-15 1T 1420 reading?
That depends quite a lot on the FSB used and the rest settings.
With Linked & Synched FSB/DRAM the Read BW should be around 10k and write/copy at 7k something.
With higher FSB and unlinked RAM it could be near 12.5k ( FSB > 500MHz ).
Currently @ loop 39, error-free :)

One last question
With 1.90vdimm (real), what is the highest speed/latency you can run those sticks?

I have to test them first with 1.90V real and I'll let you know.
I expect DDR3-1800 7-6-6-19 @ 1.9V and maybe DDR3-1900 8-7-6-21 @ 1.9V.
We'll find out soon.

@dread77:
I'm gonna test them on various motherboards m8 before I review them.
Already gone through the Asus P5K3 Deluxe, Asus P5Q3 Deluxe, now testing on the Striker II Extreme and later on the P5E64 WS Evolution ( X48 Workstation board ) and maybe on a Rampage Extreme as well ( that depends on the golden lady a.k.a. Vivian ).

They seem to be fully stable at DDR3-1451 5-5-5-15 1T.
At 1450 Linked and Synched they'd error, but that's due to the Striker II Extreme so it seems, as at 1451 Linked & Synched everything is fine, memtest86+ test #5 35 loops error-free, and benching ok.

~2.23V
---
6-5-5-16 seems to be stable at DDR3-1600+... memtest86+ test #5 40 loops error-free easily but 1610, 1620, 1650, 1700 isn't working, probably it's the Striker II Extreme screwing ( bolts :p: ) around again.
Will have to re-check on other motherboards thoroughly.

Also stable in Win Memtest ?
BenchZowner

Don't know about Win memtest ( I assume that you are talking about the Windows Memory Tester from HCI Design inc. ), but SuperPi 32M and some Linpack was ok.

The fact is that SuperPi and LinPack don`t load RAM as it Win Memtest does.
I passed 200 cycles in IntelBurnTest at 2,06Vdimm and had no errors. But I had 2-4 errors after MemTest testing. To get stable I had to increase Vdimm up to 2,14(actual).
MemTest 3.7 is the real killer of RAMs :D
Try to pass it mate.

Whats the trick to achieve 100% stability with this sticks on the Striker II at high speed/tight latencies with 1T?
I always had to keep command rate on 2T to keep stability on nForce boards...

The testing is almost over.
The Striker II Extreme ( and the rest nF790i boards ) did great at 7-7-6-x and 8-7-6-x while they sucked at 6-5-5-x and did relatively ok at 5-5-4-x.
I noticed some crazy stuff on the P5E64 WS Evolution, which I have to confirm on another X48 motherboard and maybe on a P45 as well to make sure and try to figure why it's happening ( it's not a bad thing, it's a crazy, sometimes annoying when testing your max stableoverclocks, yet a good thing ).
Let me post some of the max stable overclocks here:
8-7-6-21 1T:
Asus Striker II Extreme = DDR3-2100
Asus P5K3 Deluxe = DDR3-2080
Asus P5Q3 Deluxe = not tested yet
Asus P5E64 WS Evolution = DDR3-2100
Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 = DDR3-2092
7-7-6-21 1T:
Asus Striker II Extreme = DDR3-2000
Asus P5K3 Deluxe = Not working over DDR3-1900
Asus P5Q3 Deluxe = not tested yet
Asus P5E64 WS Evolution = None of the available straps/dividers config allowed me to run then over DDR3-1780
Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 = DDR3-1970
7-6-5-21 1T:
Asus Striker II Extreme = DDR3-1900
Asus P5K3 Deluxe = DDR3-1870 ( wouldn't work higher, but it doesn't look like it's the RAM's fault )
Asus P5Q3 Deluxe = not tested yet
Asus P5E64 WS Evolution = DDR3-1900
6-5-5-16 1T:
Asus Striker II Extreme = DDR3-1600
Asus P5K3 Deluxe = DDR3-1710
Asus P5Q3 Deluxe = not tested yet
Asus P5E64 WS Evolution = DDR3-1713
Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 = DDR3-1696
5-5-4-15 1T:
Asus Striker II Extreme = DDR3-1451
Asus P5K3 Deluxe = DDR3-1468
Asus P5Q3 Deluxe = not tested yet
Asus P5E64 WS Evolution = DDR3-1485
Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 = DDR3-1476
With a tad more voltage they're stable at DDR3-1920 7-6-5-21 on the P5E64 WS Evolution, but I'm not willing to run any D9GTR/D9GTS kit at anything over 2.27V.
More to come soon.
The review should be ready in 1-2 days.
