USB Issues

On a new build I have plugged in my cases's front USB ports into the mobo USB header, and a memory card reader into another mobo USB card reader. When I tried to plug a memory stick into these "new" ports I got a port not recognized error from Vista. The "hardwired" USB ports on the mobo work just fine, just not the stuff plugged into the headers. The bios says the USB is active.

I did have a similiar problem a while back, however this was on vista x86.
Have you tried using a different header on the motherboard? that seemed to fix my problem. Also are there any drivers you need? I had to install some with my card reader for some strange reason.

bios update maybe... p5q-e has had 5 bios updates since July, the latest being 1306 on 8/25 http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P5Q-E
