Any1 else playing it yet? Game play is really good, better than Crysis IMO Graphics are great and seemed to run smoother until I hit the Ice seen then my rig came to a crawl.

Game makers are really stepping up with the secrom I think it had to be verified on line during the install and then again after the 1st chapter. I really don't care about the inconvenience of the verification, but when I purchase a game I don't like the idea of limiting my installs. :banana::banana::banana::banana: happens hard drives fail get corrupted and hardware changes can all lead to having to reinstall

Haven't reached the ice, but with no aa@ 1920x1600 with mixed gamer/entu. settings it has been very smooth. Game play thus far has been very good as well.

At that point it's ok to crack it since you paid for it, as long as you don't redistribute it.

I just finished my review on the egg of the game. I think it's a pretty honest review, if you haven't purchased yet, go check it out (if they've posted it yet) -- I tried to be very unbiased and fair from all vantage points.

Overall, a good game. I finished it last night. Approx. 5 hours of gameplay. A few glitches, but overall, good.

sounds like your machine has issues.
Yet I have no issues with other games or apps. Perhaps, I got a bad disk or maybe securerom doesn't like some of my other apps.
It doesn't really matter, I probably am done with this one; $30 = 2 hours of play time (due to boredom), not good.

I am boycotting EA and Securerom games in the future though.

Oh yeah! it also installed a down loader program even though I told it not to during the install process.

Just started playing it. Gameplay is waaaay better than the original Crysis. Far more action and denser jungles and more enemies to kill. The soundtrack and atmosphere seems to be abit more "War" like aswell which is what i enjoy.

Seem to have a bug though whereby i cant set it to 1920x1080 in fullscreen. it just defaults back to 1024x768, could well be the Cat 8.8 drivers which so far have been worse than 8.7 will try 8.9 later on and see if it fixes that problem

Finished the game last night and thought it was a good bang for the buck 30.00 for about 3 hrs play time. It's all that the original crysis should have been. The new guns, vehicles, surroundings, and cinematics all were a blessing. had a few crashing issues towards the end that will hopefully be fixed with the 1st patch.

I downloaded it on Steam, and so far it's worked great for me. No installation issues, no runtime errors or anything like that; gameplay sucked in DX10 with all Enthusiast settings at 1280x1024, so I enabled DX9 (add the -dx9 switch at the end of the .exe), and it runs a lot smoother. This is on an HD4870, by the way.

I've been hearing a lot about installation bugs from people who bought the retail version or downloaded the ripped retail version from torrents, so maybe Steam evaded these malcontents somehow?

The game itself was quite nice, a bit better graphic, nice gameplay, much action, better Ki ....
BUT i just dont get it why this game runs like :banana::banana::banana::banana: compared to other games..
I mean i spend ~450€ on my HD4870X2 and still can´t run Crysis @ 1920x1200 Enthusiast Settings DX9, not even talking about DX10..
I played the Game @ 1920x1200 most Setting @ Mainstream/Gamer and it still runs not as smooth as an Ego Shooter should

I figured out that I can't use to many settings on enthusiast or it crashes, keeping settings on gamer and i don't have any problems. when it would crash I would have the yellow triangle showing in the task bar.

but could anybody do a comparison between vista x86 with 2GB Ram and vista x64 with 4GB Ram?
I´m just a bit interested in it because it seems that the game has way better min fps with 4GB and runs smoother.
Actually i wanted to wait at x58 and get a 4GB DD3 there a still a few months left till i´ll get it and it seems that 4GB are already usefull on some Games.

well..ive played this game for about an hour or so..and its definitely better then the original..but during some parts(mainly the driving scene with all the explosions) i lag like crazy..but usually getting constant 30fps with 1920x1200 everything on GAMER..Enthusiast is 20s and less..but tomorrow i get my 4870x2 and ill get back to this game then..

Ah, Just got a copy of it (shh) and it's amazing. My Gainward 9600GT throws a bit of a -eunt- on 'Gamer' but even on minimum it looks amazing. Enthusiast is perfect though.
I really hope Crytek make more games, their engine is amazing.. although you can't beat the quake engine.. com_maxfps 333 - jumpy jumpy. Wishful thinking though i guess ;D

^ i got a 24" and have a wee old 8800gtx right now(my 4870x2 is in but havent picked it up yet) and on Highest i get around 17-20..given the GTX 280 should be atleast double the fps..id say a constant 40 would be about right..later on though on the ice level ..if its anything like my card it will take a plunge though..maybe Enthusiast mixed with some Gamer settings will work good...it looks really good on Enthusiast and Gamer so u probably wont notice much of a difference...a lot of action to keep u concentrated on other things then just gfx..

hmm well i played the game on mostly Enthusiast settings with some of the big ones on gamer at 1680x1050 on my 8800gtx and i had good frame rates. and im not to sure about what everyone is talking about this whole drop in frames on the ICE levels i had maybe like a 1-3fps drop on them compared to normal.

overall however fantastic game! on of the best i just wish it was longer.

That's the ending. I thought it was good, just wish the game had been a couple hours longer.

It was playable at my monitor's native res on enthusiast with like ~20 average fps, but at the ice level it started lagging up like crazy for me, too. Had to put it on gamer to get through there.

Meh, I can't see how they've optimized anything at all really. Looks pretty much the same and runs just as badly if not worse than the original Crysis : P.

I figured out that I can't use to many settings on enthusiast or it crashes, keeping settings on gamer and i don't have any problems. when it would crash I would have the yellow triangle showing in the task bar.

the infamous nvk....dll issue? glad i'm not the only one getting those, gets annoying after a while.

that said, i dont think i've gotten one yet playing crysis wars, then again, i do have all the graphics settings a lot lower so i can have >60 fps

It seems like snow particles are the problem with ice-themed map. Setting e_particles_thread 1 and e_particles_lod to something lower (first check the default setting) should help you with fps with minimal decrease in quality.

wow..im right at the end..boo..just got my 4870x2 in and already im on the way to the plane to get the PAX..oh well..definitely a huge increase..almost all settings enthusiast except 3 gamer(shaders textures and something else) on 1920x1200 i get 30-60fps.
ill run the warhead benchmark and see what i get on that..compared to my 15.73fps of my 8800gtx :D

I just finished it. Thank god it was so short because I thought it sucked. Very linear, there's just no exploring to be done. And like the first one the further you got the crappier it runs. By the end I had to drop graphic settings pretty low to make it playable.

ah i like the game..
one problem i did run into..this is my own fault..i somehow had my memory cut in half on my rig..so running that game i was maxing out my memory when i shouldnt of been which cause horrible lag issues...
once i figured out that i was only using 2gbs outta the 4 and fixed that..game ran 10x better..very happy with the game thought it was a lot of fun..i love using speed mode and just raping s h i t

I enjoyed it for the most part. I played it but did not buy it (:)) and I won't buy it, although I hear the multi player is decent.

It ran pretty well on my rig, but I noticed my ram usage was like 100% :/ At least it was smoother then Crysis.

I thought it was a little short.....

Overall though the only reason this one was any better then Crysis was because everyone was expecting it to be as :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty as the last one.

It's worth a try for those who have time on there hands.

Played it all the way through finally today and it was pretty fun compared to the original. There was much more action, but it was much less open. I didn't mind though. Playing with the rig in my sig on vista 64 with resolution at 1680X1050 and on all enthusiast I was seeing around 30fps average. Don't know if that is good or bad, but had no hitch ups or anything and gameplay was always very smooth.

I actually finished Crysis this weekend and like most people here, was not expecting to see the credits roll - although I was glad the last boss battle was over because that took quite some time.

Not sure if I finished it in 5 hours because the zero-gravity part took me a while - that was disorientating as hell.

Pretty much the same but warhead is way shorter (more bad guys though)

Personally, I'm tired of paying Crytek to develop engines in exchange for the short demos that they give us as "games" I will not buy the next installment (because I got ripped off on the last two).
$30 for a couple of hours entertainment... disgusting...Wait for it to hit the bargain bins.

I preferred the opening of warhead as it dropped you straight into the thick of it. The opening sequence was a lot more exciting than 'ooh whats going on with my parachute.' Though I suppose Cry Tek didn't have to introduce you to the nano suits abilities like they had to in the first.

I'd actually be tempted to say the graphics were better in warhead. I know graphics don't make a game but seeing the wildlife running around turned it inot a more beleivable environment.

There wasn't quite as much exploring to be done in this one, but theset pieces in it were still fun like holding off the aliens from attacking the train and so on. I paid £17 for it and felt it was worth the price as I will probably go through it again at a later date. And thankfully there was no arbitary flying level at the end to ruin it. I was also a little worried the Psycho's character was going to be a mockney stereotype stolen straight from Mary Poppins. thankfully it wasn't to bad.

Just finished playing through. It was a fun few hours of shooting stuff and watching it go boom!

Although I have to say, I had a few quality issues which really pissed me off (game bought through Steam)

-Crashes to desktop / full system crashes happened a few times (I'm OCed but 100% stable in everything else, including Crysis the original..)
-quite often I'd use all 3 rockets but wouldn't drop the used launcher and the game wouldn't let me pickup a new one, try playing 80% of the game without being able to use rockets!!! major PITA!!!
-major lag during cutscenes

Frames during gameplay were pretty good, 1920x1200, no AA or AF, motion blur and HDR, everything on 'gamer' (or whatever medium was on low, med, high, xhigh).

Really just left me looking forwards to FarCry2 though :-P

Yeah, I had trouble with it crashing a ton too, apparently my 7mHz OC on the vram of the 4850s was causing them to overheat and crash the game. 7Mhz. As in from 993 to 1000. At 60% manual fan speed. Original crysis ran fine with it.

Besides that it was really good, though my rig was unhappy with it at anything above gamer on the ice levels (ran fine on enthusiast everywhere else). It really depends on the second 4850 for extra punch in games, and the crysis engine barely uses it. I found it was a bit short, but I guess that was the idea. The new superweapon was awesome for the five minutes I got to use it, and the last level with all the tanks everywhere was intense.

And yeah, REALLY looking forward to FarCry 2.

Ya... just finished it. Was geat. Better than the 1st for sure. And a bit more demanding on the GPU than anything. 8800 GTX here, and i had to drop clocks a notch.

One thing I noticed was that mid game where there was tanks lieing around, and a boss alien came about, you could only sit in the turret. Not drive the actual tank. Hitting number keys 1 or 2 didn't change my seat in the tank.

I guess that would explain why it runs so smooth on Very high or 'Enthusiast'. Ive only played the first 20 min, but i booted up both on beach levels and Crysis 1 looks noticeably better.....ive been hearing the graphics were stepped up..in what way?? Not really a big deal, the game is great so far

That's the lovely DRM EA decided to integrate into the game. If I had known it included that I would not have purchased it. I can't say too much on this forum, but I know there are certain..."tools"... out there that can help you get around this crap from EA - it would be one thing if they put on the box that it was a rental, but since they don't, what they are doing there is effectively theft.

lol, took 5 days for no one to respond to my response to their original response ( :p: ), so started a new ticket and it went right to someone who helped give me 10 extra activations.

horrible. i wonder how many people they deny activations to?
