for me, 2.10 was worse than 2.09
Stopped showing GPU temp. No matter what I do , or how many times I set the Riva Server.....
No gpu temps for me.
Back tot the 2.09, but Will give a try with 2.11, see if it fixes...........

Added experimental low-level fan control and overclocking settings cloning modes. When cloning mode is enabled RivaTuner clones and automatically applies the same low-level fan control or overclocking settings to all identical devices (i.e. the same display adapter models, different brands are allowed) installed in the system. Please take a note that currently these modes are available to power users only and can be enabled via EnableFanControlCloning and EnableClockControlCloning registry entries.

For me it worked perfectly fine. I think there wasn't any difference that I can see from the 2.09. I downloaded the 2.11 but I'll keep the 2.10, so far it's worked out pretty good.
BTW, nice clock on the GTX, so far mine can do 800/2400 and the card isn't breaking a sweat, but yeah, the 2.10 have worked just fine with everything doing what's supposed to do here.

Most of the changes between 2.10 and 2.11 were for the 4870x2 single and crossfire-x mode. It monitors just about every voltage and temp on the cards as well.
Does it...
-Support overclocking of all four cores in a dual 4870X2 configuration?
-Support fan control on both cards in a dual 4870X2 configuration?
-Support monitoring of all parameters on each card in a dual 4870X2 configuration?
That is all I care about.

Revision update - Version 2.11:
Minor bugfixes:
Low-level hardware access interfaces are now re-initialized properly before restarting the plugins when changing display adapter selection in the main tab.
What's new:
Updated databases for Detonator and ForceWare drivers. Added database for ForceWare 177.98.
Added experimental AMD RV710 and RV730 graphics processors families support. Thanks to Andrey Vorobiev for testing RivaTuner with AMD RADEON HD 4670.
Display adapter enumeration routine has been modified to provide proper fan control on AMD RADEON HD 4870 X2 series. New enumeration routine also gives additional advantages to the rest systems:
Now RivaTuner is able to detect physical display adapters attached to logical Windows display devices as well as unattached physical display adapters. Low-level access to unattached display adapters gives you the following abilities:
Ability to use RivaTuner for low-level diagnostics, hardware monitoring and fan control even when Windows is booted in VGA mode (e.g. in safe mode or with no display driver installed).
Ability to use RivaTuner for low-level diagnostics, hardware monitoring and fan control for slave display devices in SLI / Crossfire mode invisible for OS.
Attached display adapters detection time has been reduced due to optimized PCI bus scanning routine. Furthermore, both attached and unattached display devices detection are optional and can be forcibly disabled via DetectAttachedDevices and DetectUnattachedDevices registry entries for startup time optimization.
Improved secondary display adapter heads enumeration. Now RivaTuner mirrors primary head specific settings (e.g. overclocking and fan control) into the secondaty head UI.
Optimized startup time due to improved object dynamic/static casting in hardware abstraction layer.
Added experimental overclocking support for the secondary display adapters in Crossfire systems (only for Windows Vista).
Updated exceptions list for bundled D3DOverrider utility.
Improved hardware monitoring module:
Improved ADT7473.dll plugin:
Added Vcc and Vccp voltages monitoring support. Now The the plugin can monitor state of +3.3V supply voltage of ADT7473 chip (Vcc) and additinal optional voltage input (Vccp), which can be used to monitor different display adapter related voltages depending on the PCB design (e.g. memory voltage on RADEON HD 4870 X2 series display adapters).
Improved fan speed monitoring for fans with non-standard pulses per revolution count on tachometer output. Now the plugin no longer uses hardcoded calculations for standard fans with 2 pulses per revolution and can provide correct RPM monitoring for such systems (e.g. fans with 4 pulses per revolution on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 / 280 series).
Improved VT1103.dll plugin:
Now the plugin is able to monitor independent temperatures of VT1105/VT1165 voltage regulator phases (slave chips).
Improved temperature monitoring for RV710 / RV730 / RV770 graphics processors family. Now RivaTuner is able to monitor independent temperatures of display controller, memory controller and shader core on RV7xx graphics processors. Please take a note that unlike many other diagnostic tools reading these temperatures via GPU's internal sensor switching and calibration logic, RivaTuner reads these temperatures via direct access to thermal sensor's ADC outputs and calibrates ADC readings at software level. Such approach drastically reduces CPU load and doesn't have side effects like fan speed fluctuations caused by frequent sensor switching, however it is in experimental stage yet so please contact me if additional core temperatures reported by RivaTuner and other software like GPU-Z or Everest seriously differ on your system. Please take a note that traditional sensor switching based access to these temperature sensors can be also enabled for debugging and performance comparision via ATIThermalSensorAccessModeR7xx registry entry.
Optimized GPU usage monitoring for RV710 / RV730 / RV770 graphics processors family. Now RivaTuner is no longer waiting for response from on-die PowerPlay microcontroller if GPU usage is not sampled yet and returns the previous cached value instead.
Now hardware monitoring plugin activation wizard module enables ADT7473 plugin by default on AMD READEON HD 4870 X2 series display adapters.
Improved /SD and /SELECTDEVICE command line switches handler. RivaTuner's GUI is no longer activated and displayed when current display device selection is changed via these command line switches. This improvement allows you to switch target display device in multimonitor or multi-GPU SLI/Crossfire systems via hotkeys without leaving 3D application.
Added I2C bus disconnection feature for ATI RV6xx/RV7xx I2C controllers. Now RivaTuner is able to mark I2C bus as unused and exclude it from further detection when I2C controller is not responding to the transactions through this bus during specified timeout. Bus disconnection feature drastically reduces I2C devices scanning time on some systems with missing I2C buses (e.g. on the secondary chip of AMD RADEON HD 4870 X2 having no physical connection to I2C bus). Please take a not that I2C bus disconnection can be disabled via AllowI2CBusDisconnection registry entry if necessary.
Default timeout for ATI I2C transactions has been reduced from 2 seconds to 0.5 second. Now power users may adjust the timeout using ATII2CTimeout registry entry.
Improved duty cycle generation accuracy for all types of on-die and external fan controllers due to floating point calculation usage....

:shakes:The instant gratification generation. F*****g lazy a$$es.
r1rhyder have you tried it? How does it work for monitoring dual 4870X2s? Cat 8.9 can overclock all four cores, but we still need something to reliably adjust fan speeds (may be possible in 8.9, not sure) and monitor all sensors on both cards.

Yes to all questions. Read what Bo_Fox posted. Those are not claims but true statements. RT will let you clock past 800 core too.

I know what he posted. But it only references to a single 4870X2. Are you saying yes from personal experience, or from the change log?
It actually will monitor all the sensors on a dual 4870X2 configuration? And it can adjust fan speeds on BOTH cards? And both cores on both cards can be independently overclocked? And it fully supports Vista x64?
It would be amazing if the answers to all those questions are yes. But it just seems too good to be true, if you know what I mean?
I installed it and I am getting strange behavior. I have Vista SP1 x64, I use a full administrator account, I have UAC disabled and I have driver signing disabled via hitting F8 at windows boot. I have dual 4870X2s and the official Catalyst 8.9, specs in my sig. All drivers fully up to date.
When I first ran RT, a windows message popped up about a program trying to install an unsigned driver, and that it needs a signed driver to work. Odd because I have driver signing disabled, and I have several active unsigned drivers. I hit OK and RT still appears to function fine, and that message was not displayed on subsequent launches.
However, it detects that I have five 4870X2s installed. See this screenshot:
http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/3688/rivatunerai6.jpg
Is that normal?? Which ones am I supposed to overclock??? And for three of the detected 4870X2s, it says no drivers are detected.
Ok, the reason five cards are displayed are because the first two are the same thing, and changing settings in one changes the corresponding setting in the other. Still has the annoying bug of resetting fan control when changing clock speeds, but yes, it does work. I verified the the clocks in everest. 800/1000 on all cores for a first overclock. I am going to test vantage preset extreme now. Fans on 100%.

4870 is quite decent, I have one, it gives nvidia a run for their money which is good for all parties involved.

003 same here with 4870X2 CFX. For fans you caan use 1st or 2nd with third. Can set fanspeed for both cards but when 3Dmark switches to next test it goes back to default again
What version of 3DMark are you using? The fans do not reset on my PC when using 3DMark Vantage.

003 the same thing is happening to me BUT with ATITOOL & it will not adjust the fan speed at all says it is doing it .....but not from what i hear as the speed never changes & i've only got one 4870X2 card running right now
i get the same F8 issue but that disappears as long as I hit F8 on boots ATITOOL wounld not load with out the F8 fix if i restart with out the F8 the the tool will not run ...
Gonna try Riva next
getting rid of CCC stopped my start hang bug I kept getting when I installed the 4870X2
Right now it seems RT 2.11 is the best option for dual and single 4870X2 overclocking, although it's still not perfect and is quite buggy with the implementation.
The other way you can OC single or dual 4870X2s is by using Catalyst 8.9, and using overdrive. You can modify the XML profile files to increase the clocks over 800/1000, and adjust the fan speed as well. But that is a lot more work than using RT.

Yes, it is absolutely normal for those who understand how devices are supposed to be represented in SLI/CF:
http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=2836777&postcount=8
Still has the annoying bug of resetting fan control when changing clock speeds, but yes, it does work.
ATI drivers resets external fan controller settings in PowerPlay table programming routine since 2900 times and I doubt that it will be ever fixed in the Catalyst. And this driver's behavior was clearly documented in RT's readme about a year ago together with 2900 compatible version announce:
- Due to ATI Catalyst driver's PowerPlay programming issues current fan settings are being reset to defaults after applying new 3D clock frequencies on ATI RADEON 2x00 display adapters. It is recommended to reconfigure fan controls after changing 3D clock frequency until this issue is addressed in ATI driver.
although it's still not perfect and is quite buggy with the implementation.
Don't take it personal please, but before talking about buggy implementation please ensure that your own understanding of the subject and documentation reading skills are not bugged ;) Currently the list of RT's own bugs contain just one known problem: 2x multipler usage instead of 4x when displaying effective DDR5 memory clock.

Just to let everybody know, in my case, with the newest Nvidia drivers, LOD does NOT work. Have to use 2.10.

I would beg to differ...

i can set fan speeds to 100% on both cards and they will stay at 100% during full benchmarks
i am testing vantage Performance and 3DMARK03
i am also overclocking both cores as well but not sure it's actually doing something as the scores are only increasing slightly which may be the case due to having CPUs at stock speed (skulltrail setup, stock clocks)
GPUz/rivatuner monitoring sw seems to pick up the new CPU speeds do donno :S
also i don't know what clock limit these cards have but right now i have them at 840MHz core atm
still haven't done RAM OCing
btw sometimes i do have to reapply RAM speeds a couple of times to get them to stick at 100% but they don't drop in benchmarks
also you have to select each card in drop down box and check the OC and fan speed on each and make sure they are all the same

confirmed
i am overclocking all cores
so far 840/950 Vantage stable
DIno, did you set the Power User setting to force all cards to same clocks?

DIno, did you set the Power User setting to force all cards to same clocks?
not sure where that setting is but i manually selected each card and set the clocks and fan speeds and double checked they all clock the same
also GPUz confirms the clocks on all cores as same
i ended up on 860/980 stable in Xfire but Skulltrail 3D performance is hideous so will test on the EP45T Extreme next

clocking each core is working great, but it will not clone the fan speed.
