"The fine folks at Codeweavers performed an 11 day experiment in getting Google Chrome working on Linux and Mac. Their efforts resulted in the Chromium proof of concept. 'Not only does this give Mac and Linux users a chance to see what all the hype is about, it also lets the world see just how far Wine has come and how powerful it truly can be. In just 11 days, we were able to bring a modern Windows application across to Mac and Linux.' Caveat: their implementation is free as in beer but not free as in speech."

Google has plans to port Chrome to basically any OS out there that is used on desktop/laptop systems, so it's only a matter of time before we see an official Linux and Mac version of Chrome. Chrome will eventually even find it's way into Android.

I hope Google focus's on developing Chrome before porting it. It is a great browser so far, but needs and awful lot of polish (which I want done quickly :) )

And I want them to port it first. Not very interested about it if it doesn't run on Linux. I prefer Firefox anyway.

I've been using it in WINE, it works surprisingly well... I hope this is better.
