I used the new rbe 1.15 to inject the overdrive signature from a asus 4850 top bios into my own rbe modded bios.It works, now my overdrive limit is 800/1300.There is a god and he is called BAGZZlash.

I flashed the bios and when i rebooted i just had to install cat 8.8 and it works fine,no black screen on reboot.yaaay

1300 max ram and 800 max gpu????
Even 900/1200 would have been nice. Glad to see it's getting better though.

I'm thinking those are the max values and he didn't overclock to them.
Not sure either a 4870 or 4850 could reach 1300 on the memory.
800 core should be easy for 4870, 4850 may require a slight voltage boost.

My Sapphire HD4850 Toxic can reach memory to 1350MHz (x2 = 2700MHz Effective) :D with VDimm df

Basically,if you find a 4850 bios that has an higher overdrive limit than yours, you can take the overdrive signature out of it and inject it into your own bios.
The signature i used was from an asus 4850 top bios.
@leonarderman what are the overdrive limits on your bios?
My bios is modded with rbe to 1.158vgpu high 3d mode, which i had previously tested with riva tuner/3dmark06 to 750/1150.Now i can oc to that speed using ccc alone which is mucho more convenient.
I can show how its done if anyone needs me to show you.

oh yes! I had modded my Bios's Sapphire HD4850 Toxic.
Do you think Vcore 1.158V can make your card stable at 750/1150MHz? Please show me some of your benchmark's result! :D

It's pretty easy dinos, just open RBE and on the 'Additional Features' tab, load a signature file from the TechPowerUp signatures thread using method 1. Method 2 does not work for me on R700. Neither does passing the digitally signed clock limits without installing CCC, the driver rejects it.
Here is what we have now:
ASUS Top 4850 - 800/1300
ASUS Top 4870 - 990/1200
ASUS Top 4870 X2 - 900/1000
Dear ASUS, please request 1100/1300 TOP BIOS version for R700 & 4870 :D

First you load up your stock/rbe modded bios with rbe 1.15
On the additional features section, click on load and browse to the overdrive signature you have saved, and click load it.You will then see it says custom in the drop down box,and the change to these values option is selected.

Now just save your bios to a file and flash it.
Here is were i got the asus 4850 top signature i used in my bios

I have also edited mine with rbe to 1.158vgpu high 3d which is good for 750/1100 clocks :D
Here is my 750/1150 run-

what if the card is not capable if running 900MHz core and you flash to Asus Top bios......can ya get it back to default setup
or does the bios just extend your clocks in CCC to 900 max????
also how do you check that both X2 cores are OCd or even better...that all 4 in Xfire are OCd

Those are the limits of overdrive, not the clocks it would be running at.

Those are the digitally locked upper clock limits of existing public BIOS'es. If you edit a card BIOS past those limits it won't work. What sucks is the GDDR4 4850 has an upper memory clock limit of 1300 right now and the GDDR5 cards are limited to 1200/1000, 4870 & 4870 X2 respectively. It should be the other way around
Of course all this wouldn't matter if AGCT worked in CFX mode (apparently it does for some however, don't know the trick).

AGCT?
i see i guess i'll flash the card to this Asus bios then
stupid ATI locking cards and making it a :banana::banana::banana::banana: to OC
i just don't get it
and how the hell do ppl overclock past 900MHz then because there is at least one entry on HWBOT with someone doing past that on the 4870X2 cores in Xfire

what is agct??
because if i flash my card 960/900 is very unstable ,with amdgpuclock is very stable 960/900
but with c.f. wich software i can use to go up 960/900 ??

AGCT refers to AMD GPU Clock Tool ;)
Dino - BIOS flashing.
Uninstall CCC, flash your BIOS past the limits, reinstall CCC (fully functional except overdrive) :D

i too had an issue w/ stability using the rbe 1.15 signature that is part of it. or do i need to "load" a signature and not select the 4850 800/1300 option? my 4850 does 700 no problem and i am sure it has more room in it, but once i flashed it the screen kind of had that "shadow", like lines through everything and portions were a bit off, to the left. i am running a plain jane sapphire 4850 and the bios i am using is ATI VER011.003.000.000.029117. it is really not a big deal if i go higher or not as i am currently happy but like many others i enjoy tinkering w/ this stuff, but even w/ my current setup i am still able to run cod4 @ 1920x1200 all high @ ~ 70fps average.
lmk if i did something wrong, or should i switch to the VER011.004.000.000.000000 bios and try the signature on it?
also, is the hardware basically the same on most of the cards and the bios just gives additional features, like the sapphire ones? obviously now they have the ones w/ better heatsinks and the 1GB version, but the 512MB versions, same hardware? i notice now they are using a blue pcb, and i believe i have red, anybody know if there are differences in the layout and/or parts?

Ever thought, regular Joe might not know he shouldn't pull the sliders all the way to the end with stock cooling? Thats why the limits are there. Even if you move them all the way up you'll just get few artifacts and maybe lockup when gaming. WIth >800MHz on core with stock i'm not sure you'd get just that...
