This is a new free to play RPG, and the open beta was launched on sept 2nd.

The game is considered to be the Asian WoW, and the graphics are stunning for a free to play game. It is like WoW in gameply, but the graphics are much better then Guild Wars, and best of all, the game is free to download and play:

There are some reviews here:

Ignore the other reviews... this is the best thing to happen to the MMO in a LONG time...

Perfect World really is that, its a perfect world...

All in all this in one of the best MMO's to be released and a real contender to over take WoW.

The game also features a face creator much like the ones in Oblivion and The Sims, where you can completely create your own unique look, and recreate real faces:

I am still downloading it now, I only just came across it and thought I would start sharing the info. Free to download, and free to play. It follows a cash system similar to to other Asian MMO's where you can spend real money on things like armor and weapon skins, skill resets (these arent free, booo!), and pets, but all of these are optional and not required to play and enjoy the game, they are just there so that they can make money for the server costs, like the fee in other games.

I couldn't find too many screenshots yet, but I will start taking my own once it is downloaded and I start playing.

I dl'et this and it's quite good, considering its free. Not as easy to learn as wow but, graphix is on the same level. Very nice looking water though.
This game allows you to buy ingame currency with real money. I don't know what to think about that yet .

I read some where that this is a trend in Asia to have a free download of the game to try to put a stop to piracy and then to charge for ad ons and upgrades or more levels of the game. From what I read it was working well 4 them.

Is there a English option? It does look good.

I tried it a while ago, graphics look good but the translations were pretty bad when I tried it. The interface is a tad small at 2560*1600 since you can't change the size.

I just don't have the time for it, I'm waiting for Guild Wars 2 instead and hope the pvp will be great

It is a trend for Asian MMOs to be free to download and play, and they charge for optional in game items. You dont need the items to play, but they offer better looks or bonuses, like 2x EXP cards in Maple Story. You can still play for free if you want to, the cash shop is purely optional.

So what is the main hook? It's gonna need a lot more than fancy graphics and gameplay. It's going to need a strong setting, with a believeable story / background / lore behind it all or else it's just "empty gameplay" to me.

It looks like a mass amalgamation of World of Warcraft and Lineage II (http://www.lineage2.com/).

Dowloaded, played one hour, deleted.

First quest was "go to area A, kill B of monster C, bring me B of that monsters body parts"
Second quest was "go to area X, kill Y of monster Z, bring me Y of that monsters body parts"
I didn't even try the third quest.

Also, do all MMORPGs look that bad?

Does it require you to understand moonspeak?
