Hey guys,
I bought a SG850 w/ an Antec 1200 case cause of a sweet discount on them, but since then ive made some changes to my build and considering a 4870x2 and WCing it.
Using the eXtreme Outervision calculator with a Q9550 OCed to about 4 GHz w/ 1.45v (just a guess), 2 4870s CF (no x2 update), a fan controller, plus a fan controller and a crap load of fans and pump + 25-30% aging i got around 850watts, but thats exactly what i have.
Will the 850 be fine (and for the future) or should i refund it and get the Corsair HX 1000 (not a big deal i lose like $5) for the extra 150 watts
Thx for all the help

You don't have 850W of draw there - it will be fine.

Thx for the reply, thats what i thought
Do u kno about how much it uses (just in case of future upgrades but no CF or SLI i like single cards)

Maybe 500W. Not much more than that, anyway.

Thx
so when that calculator says recommended watts, its leaving room so its not fully loaded and room for more
Now i can keep this awesome psu, SWEET

Yeah - the capacitor aging option alone bloats the recommendation beyond reason. It's not like you have to worry about the capacitors on that puppy for the next 7 years or so anyway ;)

You can do even a Crossfire (http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTUzMSw5LCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==) of HD4870X2 with Signature 850.

Most people don't realize how much power their computer uses, let alone at load. A hardcore rig with crossfireX or QuadSLI will only use about 650-700W, but most of the power withdraw come mainly from the video cards and about 300W for all the other parts (cpu, HDD's, fans) a cpu that is overclocked will only raise the current by about 20-30W. And people always mention they will be running many many fans but dont need much power, a 12V rail with about 10-15amps can power about 3 of them from some personal testing ;)
As long as you have a decent name brand power supply with good efficiency and enough amps on the 12V rail/s you will be fine. A set up like yours will only need about 650-700W maybe 750W of a decent power supply.
Long story short - your fine with your current power supply and if you want to throw in another 4870 don't hesitate to do so:)
