How the hell is it possible that the nforce 4 s939 boards use the same drivers as the 790i 775 boards?

so no support for 750a and 780a chipsets... probably 'cos all supported chipsets are HT1.0 compatible, and 750a and 780a are HT 3.0!

They pack various driver files in the same package, and the installer uses the appropriate files during the installation and hardware detection process mate.
And some files are for all chipsets as well.
Especially the SB related drivers are nearly the same since nF4.

The last nForce driver set I installed (15.15) gave me a BSOD on startup AND safe mode.

So :banana::banana::banana::banana: these ones :p:

15.15 were betas, 15.17 were finals that were removed due to a bug. So give these a try.

Meh, unless they double my memory bandwidth I will give them a miss - only formatted a couple of weeks ago!

How the hell would drivers double memory bandwidth.....

These drivers *could* improve SATA/RAID/Ethernet performance, etc.

It's called "a joke" dude...#

nForce drivers are world-renowned for sucking. BSOD's, LAN problems, RAID corruption - the list goes on. So excuse if I'm a little bit cynical about any new and "improved" releases ;)

Well, BSoDs only happened to me with 9.53 on 680i because I played too much with Teaming and first Packet hehe

LAN problems, only on 9.64 I HATED IT! and I also think this came from that stupid NAM anyways.

RAID Corruptions, never had RAIDS so I cant say anything about it.

What I can say is that each new release, the drivers are "FINALLY" improving little by little, but they are IMO :D (Stability and some performance)

If it aint broken, dont fix it!

That's my philosophy.. especially with motherboard drivers (most especially with RAID drivers)!!! As long as it's working great without any problems, I aint fixing it with such risky driver updates!!!

Is werid how 15.23 has newer drivers than 19.06

Maybe nvidia keeps two lines, one line of beta drivers and one line of whql ones lol

You should be able to just get 15.24 and choose not to install the geforce driver.

I used to be a big fan of jumping on new chipset drivers, but the last time I updated, they hosed my whole machine.. totally non-recoverable because no input devices would work (USB or PS2) once I got into safe mode to try and clean up the mess... I was pretty upset.. so yeah, I think I will pass also unless these do some ridonculously amazing stuff..
