Hey guys, I've heard that this game has some kind of DRM that limits the amount of installs you can do on your system.
How true is this?

I believe this post by the Bioware dev sums up your question.
The Multi5 Eastern EU release of Mass Effect from ProjektCD uses Safedisc protection instead of the original activation limited SecureROM garbage, and as such only requires the DVD to be present in the drive to play. It's a shame this release was only sold in those 5 particular Eastern EU countries. The countries that got those copies are, .RU .SK .PL .HU .CZ (russia, slovakia, poland, hungary, czech)
