Guys
I voltmoded my EVGA 8800GTX vgpu and pencil the mems...
i get it stable on 702 / 1836 /1053 on water vith:
vgpu = 1,5
IDLE 47C / LOADED 54C
I'm sharing the loop with my Q6600 L737B at 3825, i got great temps cause on air the card at stock was 52C IDLE and 70C LOAD
Do you think that i can leave that vgpu on 1,5volts for 24/7 ??
My pc

Always going to shorten the lifespan of anything when you add more voltage to it and temps might be a little different then normal. What the normal lifespan is of certain items is out of my league though so can't really say to much more on the subject. Most people that volt mod anything don't worry too much about having to buy another piece of hardware anyways, because there is always that one chance that something will go wrong. If you have the money to buy another one then let it run 24/7 at the voltage you have modded it at. If you don't have the money and are worried about something going wrong, then what the hell are you doing volt modding in the first place. lol

OK, lemme ask you another question. Is there a reason as to why your wanting to overvolt your 8800GTX for 24/7? I mean c'mon now, these cards are pretty fast as it is without the vmod. Is there a certain game that your just not getting high enough FPS on that you have to bring your card up in voltage? Anyways, I personally do not have a vmodded card so I would not know. I did do some research at some of the different sites I visit and have seen a lot of people say that 1.4v is the way to go.

thank you for your comments pal
reason was that i couldn' t sell it to buy a new one and in case of selling it i almost had to give as present...i lost a lot of money on it from when i buy it, as this gards GPU is A2 revision i know i could jump from 575/1350/1800 to a very good higuer clocks, so i made it to 702/1836/2106 with very good temps...fact is now I can run GRID on all ULTRA settings and AACS8 at 60fps with VSYNC on
before this mod it was crap
I wanted this card to last more, so i made it...;)

From experience, 1.45v is a safe maximum voltage for 24/7 use. Any more than that and excessive heat is generated and on an A2 revision core, not much in the way of speed is gained beyond 1.45v either.
@ [cTx]Corrupt - this is Xtremesystems, people mod all the time, for many reasons, like fun, and to improve the performance of the hardware beyond it's normal capabilities. Modding can be done safely, and is a lot of fun. One thing most people on XS have is the belief that nothing is fast enough already. If he is keen to mod it, and knows how to do it safely, encouragement and support should come before anything else.

I'm not going to encourage someone if they don't have the funds to cover something that might go wrong. If they have the funds, then mod away, but as you said mod safely. Even the best and greatest, mod something and it goes wrong. It happens. Thats why I will always bring up the subject of funds when modding. If ya don't have the funds, then don't mod; especially if ya don't know what your doing.

since youre on water.. though depending on the waterblock.. if u got space, add 4 chokes/4 caps @ phase.. apply some good heatsinks on the mosfets

+ recap or add in parallel to the 5x 180uf stock caps: higher capacitance like i did
all that + vcore mod should get it stable @ 740/1900 core/shader if not more

 We guys at xtreme must have this on our signature :up:
That's my belief and reason for modding, and also every time I want to mod i ask the ppl here that are amazing helping ppl so I'm not scared of moddin' and less if i now can watch my card going faster than some new ones...
Thanks Cryptik
