is 14v 5.6v and 3.7v too much? should i run the card of a diferent psu? how many watts does it need? does it need a strong 12v , 3.3v or 5v rail? thx! :toast:
and 1.8v agp doesnt matter at all?

are those voltages measured from MBM, Bios, or a multimeter? While the pc is on or off? If those are your MBM readings then you're probably a little higher (my 3.3 reading 3.8 on a multi with no load and 3.55 in bios and windows) and I might be worried about running them that high. 14v on the 12v is about 17% off spec and I wouldnt feel safe running my hdds and cd-rom/dvd-r off that. As to your question, radeons run off the 5v rail and running that at a higher voltage keeps the amperage draw down on the card which improves overclocking stability somewhat. You're probably set with 5.6v. Oh, and I've never seen any improved stability/overclocking from increasing vagp as far as vid cards go.

The r300 uses the 5v rail. I would have to agree with Mickeymouse. More voltage is not always better. Besides, I bet you psu is coughing and wheezing from exerting itself so much to produce 14v and the 3.7v.

the rails are extremely stable and only fluctuate 0.05v every 10 min for a second or so, even under load. its a really nice psu (fortron fsp 350=renamed 400W psu) and its running pretty cool, theres a slightly warm breeze comming out of the back of the case, but thats just cpu air i think.
i meassured the volts with a multimeter with the pc under load and in idle and they were always exactly what mr. winbond said... like winbond said 3.63 and my multi thought its more like 3.628  seems like asus did a nice job in integrating and calibrating the winbond chip.
ive been running this high volts for.... 5 weeks now? maybe more, not sure... the higher rails helped me to be 3d stable at 255dc (before only 245dc) so im definately not going back! :D
and about the hd and cd writer... its all good... actually the stupid ibm hd was making those whining sounds from time to time and since i got the 12v@14v it only did it once or twice in 5 weeks whereas it would do that sound ever few days before...
5v? hmmm and you think 5.671v is ok? well at least you all agree that its not too much and wont make the card oc worse ,right? thx guys :toast:

Well i wouldn't like to run 12V rail over 13V, sure i have runned with like 13.5V for a pretty long time becuse the heavy load i had on the 5V rail regulated the 12V rail so high. But i burned the 5V rail later on ;) Now i'm running like 3.5V, 5V, 12.9V instead...
Do you psu really cut it? That isn't something i would like to run 24/7... Can you individual set the rails for 3.3V 5V 12V? Any idea how your psu regulates the rails? What rail those your mobo use? Does your atx-cables get hot.

Is your card vmodded? If so, what are the v's?

why would a higher 5v rail fry the card? i dont get it... the cards all have self reulating voltage circuits... why should they fry from too high rails?
the psu has only one pot, thats why i got the 12v that high, i raised the rails until i got good 5 and 3.3 rails and at that point the 12v was hitting 14v so i left it like that and everything is fine...
and no, the atx cables dont get hot, they are absolutely cool.
