That's going to be awesome...! loved the F.E.A.R. series.. although the first one was the best... some of the scenes scared the hell out of me...

+1 , it would get really creepy if you have surround sound and a real dark room.

Am I the only one that feels really sorry for Alma and just wants to give her a hug?

First part was original and sometimes scary. Later releases were just the same old story/gamplay...boring.
I hope this one will be lot better.

I can see why they keep the F.E.A.R name, in fact I like it better than just plain title Project Origin. I'm totally in love with the first one and can't wait to get my hand on this. Btw, the expansion packs are not developed by Monolith but Timegate. It's more like COD series being developed by 2 different developers. I'm a big fan of Monolith myself and I really have high expectation for F.E.A.R 2.

If I said that to my old lady CSI would be determining the cause of death lol I just watched the opening scenes and it scared the crap out of me :)

In the first game, the most creepy scene by far is when you walk towards a ladder, and when you use it, and the character turns back bam there she is right in front of you.
Felt a little scared just writing that now. That scared the :banana::banana::banana: out of me and i can steel feel goosebumbs whenever i think of that scene :S

playing it on a large screen with a surround system is just awesome. the sound and its cinematic staged scenes are unique to a pc game, imo.

This is very good news. They put some effort in it while Activision just tried to milk it with crappy expansions, wish Monolith could be compensated for that as well.
This game is what I am really looking forward to.

If they put as much creativity into the game as in the box art than thanks, but I'll play some Minesweeper...
FEAR box art history:
1 - little girl and some soldiers, everything in dark brown/gray and with yellow "explosion" in background
2 - some soldier, everything in dark brown/gray and with yellow "explosion" in background
3 - some soldiers, everything in dark brown/gray and with yellow "explosion" in background
4 - little girl and some soldiers, everything in dark brown/gray and with yellow "explosion" in background
Where do I preorder?

42" plasma + ~3000 watts in sound(I miss my old sound system...) + pitch black room = heart attack at a very young age. ;)

It was pushed back last month just no one really noticed or cared that it was pushed back. At least now it makes sense why its being pushed back to revamp some of the story of the game to point back to the original one.

Nice to see the original creators back on F.E.A.R. again. TimeGate pretty much milked the same :banana::banana::banana: over and over from the original. (EA anyone?) I'm looking forward to this.

Forget F.E.A.R., they need to revive the Blood series.

You're not alone, unfortunatly.
Also, to anyone who is wondering why they had a community vote on "Project Origin", here is the reason. When Monolith lost the rights to the F.E.A.R title, it was only for the actual name. Whereas, Monolith kept all of the characters, etc.

Then you climb down the ladder and turn to your left and there she is again? I had to buy a new chair :)

scariest part besides the girl and ladder was walking into the empty office floor start walking and you start getting hit from behind, turn around and nobodys there. then you get hit again and again til you notice theres 3 pairs of red eyes running all over the walls

Quoted for truth and creepy as System Shock! X-fi plus a real Receiver ain't bad at all. When it came out I was using a 24" CRT! Last played it on my 22" LCD. But I've always loved this and many other Games' sounds! Goes back to at least Sound effects from America's Army to Music from UT and especially Quake 2's Music! In fact, I ripped the Quake, Incoming and Forsaken to my HDD and burnt them to CD:rofl:
I want some Co-Op scaryness. XD

The two "expansion packs" were not made by Monolith.
