I can see this product being popular for ticket scalpers who want to buy all the popular tickets before anyone else can.

I think it's innovative and with a lot of potential, but just not there yet.

The question now begs, would you like an increased possibility of brain cancer in your future?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm blown away by this science fiction stuff!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, I never saw that one coming. I thought it was like 20 years away, at least. Maybe it will be 20 years away, just like the time it took for Nintendo's Power Glove concept to finally become a success like the Wii-mote.

Or maybe I'm wrong and it will take off much sooner than that? Let's see, I admit!

It's a sensor...not an antennae. You'd have more likelyhood of getting cancer from your wireless headset or your N router...

This device reminds me of something I saw 25 years ago some guy made that used Alpha waves to generate tones and key sequences from synthesizers.

I think this will be the way forward...but it needs to useful in the way a mouse is useful. Sikmply binding to keystrokes is not enough.

it can't be used to control mouse movments:down:

Yeah but does it have the vibration feedback feature.

I imagined writing software using this thing where you can mix music simply by emoting or changing expression (etc). That would be pretty damn cool, if I could write software. :p:

But there are lots of creative things that could be done with this, but it doesn't have a chance of taking off in the mainstream at that price. It's a nice experiment though.

I like the part where they associate Alpha Waves with agression. So I could bind that to the F5 key whenever XS goes down :D

Something like it's expensive and doesn't do the job any better than what's existing already, plus it makes you look like a retard.
Did i please the moral police?

could be a god send for disabled people that are unable to use computers via mouse and keyboard !

It's a start, but no way i'm putting that thing on my head, i like my brain too much to risk it for a little more comfort. For disabled people like the guy above said may be a huge step.

How could it be a risk to your brain  The device has 0 to do with neural activity, it only picks up the actual movement you make.

I'm pretty skeptical about this thing.
I mean, it's very possible this thing is more of a brow-furrowing actuator than anything else.
Hopefully some XSers out there have bought this and can testify...

but uh, it's supposed to measurre neural activity.
hence, "neural impulse actuator"...
on the other hand, whether it actually does is another question...

Screw this POS. I'm waiting for the Emotiv Neuroheadset.

EDIT: Check out this video of the Emotiv EPOC Neuroheadset in action: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/22/gdc08-brain-control-emotiv-headset-round-two/

Like people have said, most of it is just muscled movement. Good luck playing with this since you'll probably develop several twitches.
