Hi m8s!
I run into a prob with my Vmod for the 88GTS/G80 .... unfortunately due to miscelaneous circumstances (let's name it like that)
I busted the mod and 2 small SMDs got lost
The one marked in red (I assumed) was the 35 Ohm resitor, which I replaced now with 10+20 Ohm, so this one is safe (hopefully), unfortunately I was not able to solder the yellow marked SMD to it's place before it flipped away :ROTF: no chance to find it, I didn't clean up the last 2 weeks
Has anyone a clue what this small SMD (yellw) is/was, I have made a workaround and soldered wires to the spots on the PCB which should make it easier to bux the lost SMD and replace it with a bigger version.... so anyone of you cracks out there (and in thei forum) know what it was? The guy in the electronic shop had no clue and even didn't want to check it (before I lost it) .. to me it seems logical that it could only be a diode (do you name it like that) or a capacitor ....
pls help ... the mod worked good (513/12xx/800 -->no mod 612/1620/990 nax --> mod Vmem 2.1V Vgpu 1.385V 675/1780/1100) and it's only a Rev A2 .. so would be great if someone can help ... I just bought the Accelero 8800 Extreme and 'd really like to keep the card as the FPS are ok for me ....
Thx to all beforehands
Edit : I found a data sheet maybe someone cane see some information? As far as I can see it should be soldered to Pin No30/31? , but not sure
BTW just back from Nickleback concert in Stuttgart  won on a radio station today afternoon ... BTW I'm living in Germany :)

HAs anyone of you the possibility to measure out that SMD thing there?
Thx for help ....

if I had the card I would.
You can order it when finding the correct value.
I would change the other one to exact value.
Check the 8800 GTS vmod thread, maybe there are some reading there.
I have a 8800 GT but it dosent have the same layout it appears.

i have done almost the same thing.... i ended up bridging the yellow and red positive and added a resistor in the middle... like in the picture the white wire is bridging the yellow and red.. then i have a VR attached to that.. i dont remember the size i used.. but when i booted up it was 1.9v then i dialed it to the correct voltage i needed...
sorry if you do not understand me.. i can take the 8800 640 out of the media center and try to help you further... since i have not messed with that card in ages... i am a little rusty.. =\ :p:

Lol damn. Until a week ago, I had a vmodded A3 8800 GTS 640 in my rig, and since I'm living in Stuttgart, you could even have come by and compare cards :D
Unfortunately I sold my card a week ago to a friend.. I disabled all my vmods of course, they had gone rogue somehow. I didn't change a thing in 2 months, but then I suddenly got artifacts and shutdowns in games. Checked the vGPU - dang 1,61V so OVP was kicking in, Vmem was at 2,15V which caused the artifacts. Solder points were still ok, I had nothing to indicate the sudden rise in volts. VRs were turned to lowest position where I left them (used to be 1,38V vgpu and 2,04V Vmem) - oh well
Removed all but the vdroop mod, now it's running fine again at 1,28V gpu loaded. Can still do 730 core :D

Hi jcool ... you may know me under another name (TRixxY, in CB and AWF forum), we're really very near to each other (Kirchheim/Teck), I was also the day before yestreday in Stuggitown ... Nickleback was there also
Well seems if I don't get the correct value of the (assumed) cap I'll solder a 400nF cap into it and fire the card up  can't more than die ....
So if it won't work I'll need to get a 4870 ... or just keep the x1950pro, still good FPS on CoD4/BF2 with middle details
Nevertheless I'd like to get this nV to work again.
Help appreciated to find out the SMD values ..... I also checked all possible pics in HWmods I have found also I have the sheme of the Premarion unfortunately only the internal sheme, to have access to the pin/explanation of the chip I'd need to register at primarion.com as distributor

Would apreciate if you could measure out what kind of SMD is in the yellow place ... thx:up:

i think i still have the board to my g80. I'll measure that for you later tonight if i get a chance.
maybe

 that would be great
the x1950pro makes me a noob on CoD4  min details make not more than 40FPS

Any news on this ... thx

You won't get any kind of useful measurement. Measuring resistance/capacitance can't be done unless the parts are first removed from the circuit.

still no solution for my prob ... runnning x1950pro
Someone some ideas?
I switched to 4850 in-between, but would like to run the 88GTS still :o)
Can someone help?

I just retired my vModded GTS640 (to a lesser machine though, so it still lives!). It was a GREAT card - 729/1780/1080 with voltage turned up (dont have access to exact voltage atm).
Anyway, the card has found a new home but as it is, I am actually going there now and then, so Ill try to find out what you ask for.
Actually, when I did the mod, I accidentally ripped the white measuring/soldering point between the red and yellow components, severing contact. Fortunately, it wasn't very hard to bridge them with a small piece of wire, and the trimpot was later attached to that "bridge".
It is possible that the yellow one is covered in glue (I use it to insulate and stabilize), but Ill do what I can to find out what it is.
UPDATE: Sorry BigBadBogus - I checked my own modded gts640 and unfortunately, the whole area with the solder points is covered in insulating glue. So, I coulnd't check for the component you wanted. Im sorry. I hope you can get it to work again, as it is a great card with a voltmod.

I don't know where you live, but there's a guy (fragmastermax) giving away a dead G80 8800 (looks like a GTS) if you pay shipping. You could grab it from him and take the parts you need of the dead board and put them on yours. That's what I'd do.
Here's the FS thread:
