Wheel or not?

Has anybody used some console controller with driving games like carbon, underground 2 or grid? It's horrible to drive with keyboard but i don't want to buy racing wheel as it's expensive and takes alot of space. Or should I bite the bullet and buy a wheel?

If you play alot of racing games. You can't do without really.

To be anything remotely close to competive in the very least you need the degree of acurracy a wheel and pedal gives you. keyboard is on and off and you can do some good lap times...

but without a wheel you'll never be close to the top times in online racing.


not to mention its fun as heck.

If you're big into sims, pony up the cash for a G25 and enjoy it
If you're just playing arcade games (NFS, grid, etc like you mentioned) a wired xbox 360 controller works a charm

That's just the thing, i'm not such driving enthusiast that I would want to use
over 200eur for wheel I don't use much. Mainly I play fps games so it's not been a huge issue for me to not have a wheel.

I was just wondering if controller would be ok for me that's all.

Checking from my main purchase place there's 50 eur formula vibration wheel which I could just about justify. There's also for 30 eur logitech dual action gamepad which sounds even nicer considering that I usually play crysis type of games.

if your not really into racing games hardcore a good console controller is just fine like afire said.

Its just to not use the keyboard with the on and off keys.

i have both the momo and the G25 and i have to say my momo is still brand new becuz i cant part with my G25. its just the best wheel imo. the shifter and all the pedals its just badass. i play liveforspeed.net(game is the best but you only get demo and have to buy a license that never expires like i did) and others like rfactor, grid, flatout 3, uaz 4x4 offroad, gtr2, and a few others i cant remember but the wheel is the best thing i did buy cuz it made it way more fun. the momo just doesnt have it if you know what i mean. you can just look at the 2 and see.
