I got a Radeon 9500Pro back from RMA with Infineon 3.3 ram on it and I was wondering if I use the same BIOS to flash is as I did my last card that had Samsung?

Aslo, how good does the Infineon 3.3 overclock at defualt voltage?

Not very well, you should get 297-303 on it.

what about the BIOS?

Only one gave higher clocks -97Club.bin BIOS.....but stability and performance were worse.

I have tested them all and the "MUFU" 97Pro BIOS is the best.

Thanks, you wouldn't happen to have a link would you?

i thougt it does ~310? mickey mouse had 2 cards with infini 3.3 and got them to ~360 with mods.

The 9800's dont seen to recognize the difference between 3.3 and 2.86.. they just GO GO GO... 8-)

no, mickey had a 9700 and 9500 and they both did around 360 after the mods.

vref is very low on those chips i heard, only 1.25v and it should be 1.5v right?

STEvil

1.5 MAX

Default is ~1.4, give or take depending on your 5v rail.

weeeee so running my 5v rail @5.671v means i get higher volts? like higher vref and vgpu and vmem? but the card has a selfregulating voltage circuit doesnt it? :confused.

stevil, your overvolting your rails as well right? will the 5v rail@5.671 make my card oc less?

I think they stop at about 5.25v, but I coudl be off a bit.

At least the difference between 5.25v and 5.33v for me was nil on my Radeon, but between 5.00v and 5.25 my vcore, vmem, and vref, and vddq all went up...

-->irc :D

how much did they go up? do you think i could reach a critical level on some of the voltages with 5.67v?

STEvil

No, they stopped going up after 5.25 for me. Just measure your VDDQ and see if its near 2.98v.. thats what mine was at with 5.25/5.33v.

saaya, are you running the whole computer at 5.67 or just the card?

The card I have does 305Mhz on the ram with no artifacts, my last card did 310. I got 3 multimeters and the are all at work so I can't really do much until moday. I'd be more then happy to hit 350Mhz ram with mods.

I have 3.3's on my oem 9700 & i hit 360 with some very large homemade ramsinks.

...and mods i assume? :stick:

im running the whole setup with 3.7 5.67 and 14v... i think i will use an extra psu for my 9500 to start, once i got the mods and measurement points done i will see how the voltages change with higher rails.

if i hit 450/350 im statisfied 500 core would be really nice, and 500/400 would be a dream... but that memory will never go past 380 it seems, even with unholy vref and vddr :(

460 is about tops on R300 cores.. Can only get 430 out of mine, but thats with only vgpu mod and big copper heatsink.. 8-)

there are some people on the orb with 460 and watercooling on the gpu! i bet those cards would do at least 480 if not 500 with a tec or vapo!

STEvil

Yeah, i've seen some 460's with water/MCW50-T's.

I have also noticed my card puts out SIGNIFICANTLY more heat @ 1.9v with 5v @ 5v, instead of 5.25v+. Also, 1.75v used to make 430 stable @ 5.25+v, while its taking me 1.95v to get 430mhz with stock 5v now.... grr.

What did macci top his 9700 Pro out at? I figure thats close to tops..

saaya

no, there are people with 460 clocks with simple watercooling! not a mcw50-t! theres even a guy with 450 on air! (1u cpu hsf)

STEvil

Yes, I know there are people at 460 with just water

Yeah, i've seen some 460's with water/MCW50-T's.

As in water and/or. I can run windowed 3d apps at 455 in windows @ 1.9v but as soon as I try 3d it commits suicide.

430 is all she will do on air for me it seems..

saaya

thats nice! sounds like 480 with a tec to me.

I've got an 86 watt one, but dont want to put it on because I dont want to insulate and i'm running short on PCI slots as it is.. lol.

I have a new MCW50-T sitting here ready to mount up. Maybe in the next week or so, but I will be testing it first on my 9500 that only does 420 core. The 440 core on air card will follow.
