Mobile P4 2.66 with 20 multi?

Hey all, I just pulled a 2.66 512k 533 bus cpu out of a brand new laptop. In my max3 it has a multi of 20?! Weren't the mobile P4's supposed to default to their lowest multi like 8 or 10 or something? Is there something I have to set? would setfsb work, i wouldn't think that matters because my multi is so high still. I can get 3.8 on water out of this chip, i just need to get the bus up to snuff, its only at 180-185. Thanks

welcome to xtreme systems! :toast: ive heard modding the bios enables some multis on 7205 boards iirc... but not sure... was a long time ago, sorry :(

THanks partner, I just remember seeing someone OC the hell out of a mobile cpu cause it had an eight multi. He had it like 300 x8 which is no massive OC but is a huge front side.

yeah... i read about that somehwere... hmmm i think the forum had a black or dark background... dont remember what forum it was though...

try to find out about the pins of the cpu, i bet you can fool the internal mechanism to change the multis with the right pins.
